managed guest mode stations stuck on Sirsi's "verifying you are human" process

Our catalog stations are getting stuck on what I assume is a new verification process Sirsi has imposed. When you click on a book to view details, it goes into a "verifying you are human" screen that never ends. (See attached.) 

On regular browsers, that screen pops up for a second or two and goes away, never to be seen again (at least until you clear browser data). Our systems manager is talking to Sirsi about what they are doing in that process, but does anyone have tips for getting the ChromeOS browser through that verification process?
