Generate Autofill Rules does nothing

After the update to 6.12.2, the generate autofill rules does not save any rules. It says "done" on the top bar but opening the Options of the extension does not list any rules. I can manually create rules like normal. 


I'm running version 54.0.2840.59 of Chrome. Already tried a full uninstall (delete all data). Any ideas?

Sorry, I'm not able to reproduce this. I'm using Autofill 6.12.2 with Chrome 54.0.2840.59 beta-m on Windows 7 32-bit. Can anybody else reproduce this?

Can you see if the rules were generated in another profile, or maybe they are in Unfiled?

I'm on Win10 (Anniversary update 14393 + all updates after that). I have confirmed that this issue now exists on two of my computers (both same OS and Chrome ver). 

Rules aren't going in any other profile. I can't even get any rules to get created on the practice form: http://www.tohodo.com/autofill/form.html

That is very strange... I'm on Windows 7 at work and Windows 10 w/o Anniversary update and both PCs work. I will wait until my Windows 10 box is updated to build 14393  and try again.

Is the Autofill toolbar icon (lightning bolt) grayed out or does it have gold color?

It is gold when I'm on a page with fillable fields.

Sorry, no matter what steps I take I cannot reproduce this issue. Whenever the icon is gold, the wizard (infobar) drops down from the top as soon as I click on the icon.

Maybe this is happening only on your page -- can you give me the URL to test?

This is happening on any page, including the practice form: http://www.tohodo.com/autofill/form.html

To be clear, I'm right clicking near the filled out form, and using the context menu "add rules for this page", the wizard infobar does pop down, I click "generate autofill rules", it says "done" and the rule never gets generated. 

To try to eliminate and issues with my PC/google account - I set up a new VM with Win10 Anniversary Update (build 14393), and Chrome 54.0.2840.71 64bit. I did not log Chrome into any google account and it still does not save any auto generated profile.

That is very unusual. If you go to the practice form, click the extension icon (or right-click and select "Add rules for this page"), and click Generate Autofill Rules button, you should get the message "No fields have been changed". The fact that you're getting the message "Done" tells me one or more of the fields have changed between the time the page loaded and when you clicked on the Generate Autofill Rules button. Is there another extension that is changing the field values? Try this:

1. Disable all other extensions
2. Disable the built-in Chrome autofill feature
3. Load practice form
4. Enter something in the Full Name field
5. Select "Add rules for this page"
6. Select a new profile
7. Click Generate Autofill Rules
8. Open Autofill Options
9. If not already there, go to the new profile you created in step 6

Do you see a rule for Full Name?
