Is there a way to sync the import remote file in google chrome?  So that I don't have to manually do this for every employee on every machine they use.

You can manage one set of rules centrally by saving to one remote file, then give everyone the URL to this file and enable the "Auto-import settings from the URL above when the browser starts" option.

Pastebin is a good free service to save your remote Autofill rules, e.g.:

I was able to set that up already! Which by the way is brilliant as I can control the file and all the employees settings would sync just by restarting chrome!  We use chrome with a different profile for each employee of which login to different computers through out the week.  Do to this in order for me to set this up I would have to log in on every computer with every profile and setup the auto import settings.  I understand the limitations of syncing the rules but is there a way to be able to sync just the auto import settings?  If this is possible then I would just have to setup each profile on one machine and the import setting would sync and should just work when they login on a different computer?

I also like that I can set a hotkey and it drops down the bar so that I can search or click the drop down to set the profile that I want to run manually.  What would be amazing would be if the search or drop down didn't show profiles if they can't run on that site.

Ah, I think I understand your situation better -- thanks for explaining. Unfortunately, what you have in mind can't be done because Autofill does not use the storage.sync API, which has a storage limit of only 102400 bytes (not nearly enough as some users have thousands and thousands of rules).

What would be amazing would be if the search or drop down didn't show profiles if they can't run on that site.

UPDATE: I cannot update Autofill to only show applicable profiles without rewriting some code that would affect many existing users, so sorry this is a no-go. The reason is because you can have a scenario like this:

Yes, you can have Site filters at both the profile level AND rule level, and the filter at the rule level will always override the setting at the profile level. This means for the profile seen in the screenshot above, if you go to bing.com it would still execute the rule in that profile even though the profile itself has a Site filter of "xxx".

Instead of syncing every single profile and rule could you not just sync the auto import url setting so that when it loads the extension pulls in the csv file for all the rules and profiles or does it not work like that?
