In India, Maratha / Marathi Language is one of the highly used language after Hindi and English. In my application i want to use marathi font.I know how to use custom fonts in android. The problem is that when i use "Kruti Dev" it shows in android studio preview emulator even thought i have not set it.But if i try to use "Subak" font i am not getting the desired output. So please can you tell me how will i be able to use this font.

The workaround is to re-encode the font that is not displaying. Upload the font file to and convert it to output as a TTF. Place the outputted file back in your assets folder and it should now display correctly on Android.

You can select Marathi in LibreOffice using TOOLS > OPTIONS > LANGUAGE SETTINGS > LANGUAGES > COMPLEX TEXT LAYOUTS (CTL) > MARATHI. Then choose a font that supports Marathi like LOHIT DEVANAGARI . There is a language pack for MARATHI which you can install, to provide fuller support.

I can see upto TOOLS > OPTIONS > LANGUAGE SETTINGS > LANGUAGES > COMPLEX TEXT LAYOUTS . And there is nothing that shows me word Marathi. I could not understand or do operation (CTL) > MARATHI. I tried pressing (CTL) and selecting Marathi. It did not work.

(CTL) means COMPLEX TEXT LAYOUT not press the CTL (control) button. Select COMPLEX TEXT LAYOUT (CTL) and to the right where it probably says (NONE) use the right arrow and scroll down until you see MARATHI. You will scroll down past AMHARIC, lots of ARABIC first and another twenty or so languages.

I am facing issue of Adobe Indesign CS5 Marathi Fonts Joint letters (प्र becomes पऱ ) not working. I am coping text from google Inputs to InDesign CS5. I tried with multiple fonts but same issue happens everytime. Any solution would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Manan has given great suggestion about using Glyph panel. You may also click on -special-characters.html to know more about Glyphs.

I'd also recommend using the latest version of Adobe InDesign for many new features, better performance and stability.

Hope it helps.

I am using iReport 3.0 tool. Now i get a report in pdf. but on that pdf file or report i want to display marathi font. Whenever i am creating a report that time the textField displays the marathi font but wherever i am going to run that report file. it cant displays in that perticular form.

Actually, I have never worked on this. Although I believe if you want to print in Marathi font, go to the textField properties and in pdf encoding make sure your name of the font appears and it is selected rather than default which is set to CP1252 (Western European ANSI aka WinAnsi). It might work. As I told you earlier I have never worked on it.

I want a marathi text in my Generated pdf but it 's not display i used "pdfFontName="C:\Windows\Fonts\Akshar Unicode Regular.TTF" pdfEncoding="Identity-H" isPdfEmbedded="true" " BUT ITS NOT WORKING Kindly help me its very urgent

Welcome to the Forum!

I strongly doubt that there are ready-made Gujrati fonts for DMD library. You will probably have to draw them yourself. In addition to the font itself, there is another problem - as far as know the DMD library cannot work with Unicode encoding.

There are other libraries for working with similar matrices. For example, the DMD-STM32 library can work with Unicode fonts in Adafruit format. Adafruit fonts are good because they can be converted from Truetype (TTF) fonts, a lot such font for any language available in the Internet.

For example, there is a set of fonts for Gujarati, that I found in google:

I want to use Marathi font and English font in the same template but I don't want to specify Marathi or English in between. means I will write some random text which has Marathi or English both text anywhere in between. How can I manage this so that I don't need to write the Marathi or English explicitly.

The most advanced way to do this is with Babel in LuaLaTeX. This can detect the language and switch between different serif, sans-serif and monospace fonts for each language. It also has the advantage of supporting bidirecional text and hyphenation rules for each language, if Babel has them.

You might need to surround some paragraphs and sections with commands like \beginotherlanguagemarathi and \end[otherlanguage} if you need to switch between different layouts for the two languages.

Load the fontspec package and activate the font via a \setmainfont directive. And, as @ApoorvPotnis has kindly noted in a comment, do specify the options [Script=Devanagari, Language=Marathi, Renderer=Harfbuzz]. The third option should only be used if you use LuaLaTeX to compile your document.
