I seek the Christ, to have a close relationship with Him. To know Him.
To know His Word. If that means joining the LDS/Mormon church, then I
would gladly do so; after all, I seek the Truth. Although I wish to
share my
opinion here, I do not wish to inspire a "hate" debate. Thus, in love,
here is
reason #6 why I can't become a Mormon:

Topic: Jesus Not Conceived by the Holy Spirit
"... Now remember from this time forth, and for ever, that Jesus Christ
was not begonnen by the Holy Ghost."
[Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, Vol I, pp 50, 51, April 9, 1852]

Canonized Bible Refs: Matt 1:18, 20; Luke 1:34, 35.

Other Refs: The LDS' Millennial Star, Vol. XV, No 48, 11/26/1853, pp
769, 770.
Gospel Principles, (LDS Church, Salt Lake City, 1986), p. 34

"This teaching given at a General Conference of the Mormon CHurch by
Brigham
Young flatly contradicts the Bible's statement that Mary was "with child
of the Holy
Ghost." Why? Because Mormons have been taught that "the Holy Ghost is
a male
personage ... the Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit in the form of a
man." To Mormons,
God the Father and the Holy Ghost are two different Gods, and only one
of them
could be the father of Jesus. Since it was God the Father, then it
was not the Holy Ghost
who was Jesus' male parent. Although Mormons claim to believe in the
Bible, they allow
their leaders and scriptures to overrule and contradict the BIble,
giving them higher
authority than the book Christians accept as God's Word."

The closing chapter of Revelation says, "I warn everyone who hears the
words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds anything to them,
God will add to him the plagues described in this book." (Rev 22:18).

Because the LDS teaching de-emphasizes the Bible, and injects or adds
its own doctrine sometimes out right altering the Bible's original
text, I cannot accept
the teaching. I have no joy in stating this position. I merely cannot
accept it
because the cannonized Bible is the standard for the Christian, not the
Book of
Mormon, D&C or PGP.

In the cannonized Bible, St. Paul wrote to be aware of those like the
LDS: "Charge some that they teach no other doctrine, Neither give heed
to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than

godly edifying which is in faith." (1 Tim 1:3,4) and the LDS church
appears, unfortunately, to be doing so. Thus, LDS teaching is false, and

so I must call it such.

The Bible teaches us that Jesus is the Creator and that Satan is a
creation, and I cannot accept otherwise.

LDS is a cult. It is a false religion and deceives many. The Book of
Mormon is not the Word of God, but rather a partial clone with man-made
edits,
inserts and deviations.

Do you seek the "truth?" or are you just searching? Do you really want
to know the living Christ? Then consider what is said here in love.
Why would
so many of us, in love, be trying to persuade you to leave the LDS
church --
what is our personal gain? Consider our motives. Consider our hearts,
those who
talk to you in love. Those who do not are not following Christ, but
their own vein
agenda to bash Mormons, the LDS Church, etc.. Christians everywhere
love you,
but cannot accept the LDS teaching, doctrines, scriptures.

But Christ died for Mormons too, and I love my Mormon brothers and
sisters. In love I share my position, not to judge them but to descern
them, to help them see where they have errored. Most Mormons are
wonderful people, good citizens and great friends. I do not hate
Mormons, but rather pray that they might find their way out of the LDS
by encouragement, love and the conviction of the Holy Spirit to reveal
that which is Truth and that which is false. Jesus said, "I am the way,

the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me." No
mention of Joseph Smith, Book of Mormon, restore the gospel, restore the

True Church, or Temple rites.

Not all seek truth as they claim, but rather desire to argue and fight.
Their hearts are filled with hatred and bitterness; their lives are
empty and hollow.

Whom do you seek?

One does not have to stay a Mormon, and can find joy and peace in the
real Christ.

Peace and Love in the Name above all names to all my Mormon brothers and

sisters.

Please, on this statement could, you supply similarly convincing
evidence from scripture?
