Men and the Role of Fatherhood

Read Matthew 6:10Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

The desire of a child of God is for the will of the Father to be accomplished in this earth. As God’s children, we will do anything necessary for that purpose. Men have left family and friends to follow the Lord’s will and at great personal cost. We should be so in love with our Father that His will is dominant in our lives. What if we invoke a similar desire in our children? What if discipline is not what demands their attention, but love? Then, when they fail in their duties as children they hurt more because of their love for dad rather than their fear of dad. Perhaps then we would start hearing them ask, “Dad, what do I need to do?”
