Why apologize?

The current discussion, for reasons that may not seem clear, make me
think of St. Augustine. He felt it necessary to defend Christianity
from the accusations that the Roman pagans made. They were blaming
the fall of Rome on Christianity. Why defend this? Why apologize?
Was Rome worth saving? Why build the city in Rome when you can build
it in Jesus. Does not Daniel discuss a kingdom, a mountain made of
earth that will bring down all the others. Or as Jesus says 'a city
set on hill.' Its our destiny, and its time we figured that out.

We're all under the gun here. It ain't no joke, but its our destiny
to bring it down. I've outlined a simple form of mysticism. Has a
big word - maybe two - empirical mysticism. All it means is that we
see ourselves in light of scripture as a unified whole. Jesus Christ
is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

The heart of man is a swinging pendulum between the earthly kingdom
and the heavenly. Most of us only look to God when it is our self
interest. We have to form a mountain that will bring them our way and
help them out when things get really bad. A model of consistency
independant of ones religion. A tibetan buddhist can look at his own
scriptures - his own experience of exile - and find unity with the
story of Exodus...with Jesus.

Don't believe me, look at the story of the Buddha - it parallels the
story of Genesis. Mother dies in child birth. Father hears a
prophecy - he'll either be a great king or a great holy man. Father
tries to make him a king. He breaks free. While sitting on the side
of a river - a tree gives him shade and I think it even drops figs
(the sweetest of fruits) on him. The 'son of man is lord of the
Sabbath and scripture cannot be put aside.'

I desire nothing more than the complete annihilation of my enemy. It
is my birthright. The death of my enemy is promised to me in
scripture. Fair Zion will kill the serpent. There is no need to
apologize. So join me. Where two or more gather in the name of
Jesus...

My response which I will be posting on this Sunday is basically
opposite to your views. I hope that we can still fellowship, Desi

Really?  The opposite?  Not so sure you know what I'm saying.  Either that or you're kidding.  In which case, give it up or quit wasting your time here - your life is too short.

Some days I figure I do more damage than good. I write my posts to
foster conversation. Appears as though, I end up suppressing it.
Then again, I was lucky enough to be born on the first side of reality
so I really don't get it.

In light of todays Mass readings:

http://www.usccb.org/nab/readings/030609.shtml

If you're looking for a way to systematically read the bible, I
recommend the daily mass readings. Todays readings discuss virtue.
What does it mean to be virtuous? Jesus appears to take it a step
further to a change of heart. We have to get rid of anger and the
other poisons that lead to sin. Ezekial says that a wicked man can
change his ways.

At this point in time, I'm not angry at anyone in particular. My
anger is with a general collective that seeks to suppress, pervert and
destroy the truth. Am I paranoid? You betcha and I got reason to
be. I can't even get a question answered at a grocery store with out
the store clerk pointing at the product with her middle finger. Most
days, I figure I'm the only one calling attention to it. I'm not
talking about some futuristic anti-christ who is gonna take over. I
think the anti-christ has already taken over, and I recognize it. And
that it did so a long-long time ago. Perhaps it took the New
Testament for the serpent to recognize itself?

I wonder why people waste their time. I don't see how a man or a
woman can go to church wearing a ring on their middle finger. One of
many 'tells' that they use. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt -
maybe one in thousand doesn't know what that means. If you can't make
a simple change to your outside actions- how can you expect to change
your interior heart?

God Bless,

Pete

OK, I'll bite, what does it mean?   (at least in your thoughts?)

Things aren't what they seem.  Honesty is a rare commodity.  I've thought about this often.  Who else but satan would take a jewish man, nail him to a dead tree, kill him and then make a God out of him.  Like Paul said, we're strong in our weakness.
