to Christian Mysticism
I consider myself an empirical mystic. That is I use my past
experiences - my trials - to see myself in the scriptures. Faith is
always under attack in this world, in our culture - a culture which
has been correctly described as a culture of death. When I read the
laments in a Psalm or the sufferings of Jesus - I see myself there.
But I also take heart in knowing that I provide a place for God in
this world...that I sit right and let Him make my enemy, my footstool
- and in doing so, I rule in the midst of my enemies. It takes faith
to do nothing in the midst of so much injustice.
