Phi 3:10-12 (WEB) - " that I may know him, and the power of his
resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed
to his death; if by any means I may attain to the resurrection from
the dead. Not that I have already obtained, or am already made
perfect; but I press on, if it is so that I may take hold of that for
which also I was taken hold of by Christ Jesus." -

To have met Jesus Christ (repentence and conversion) is the beginning
of "knowing" HIM. But to "know the power of His Resurrection" is
something total different. How do one start to explain something like
this to yourself? How do you know that you yourself are on the right
track to know this power.

What is this Power of ressurection?
If a man is "plugged" in to this power, how do he act and live his
life? I can not think of any person I met of whom one can say that
this man or woman live their life in the power of this resurrection.
There are a lot of things in the Gospel of Jesus Christ that demands
action from us, but sometimes I think that we sifted out all the
easier things which we can handle in a groupformat (church).

I would realy like to know if there is anybody out there who thinks
(or knows) that they found the door to this knowledge.

God is not what you imagine or what you think you understand. If you understand you have failed. — St. Augustine

“If you believe what you like in the gospel, and reject what you don’t like, it is not the gospel you believe, but yourself.”

Ariel,

Like most we often ask that question of ourselves. My feelings are that without the Church I would not be capable of believing and understanding the resurrection. It is because of my belief of the resurrection that fills me with the Holy Spirit and allows for my following his word.I plan on and am working toward being a Saint. We all should be working in that direction. If we had the door to that knowledge and knew God as you say, then there would be no need to pray worship or continue with the community or the church, because our ticket would already be punched. God did not give us all the answers for that very reason.

Believe me all I know is that the holy spirit within me and the joy that is within me comes from knowing that he will return and I will see him face to face. Therefor the resurrection happened for our existence, without it we would not be here today, no human would be here today, and yet 2,000 yrs later we still await his return is that not enough to believe in the power of the resurrection?

I have cancer and several other issues that I see as a blessing to be closer to him and to have my hand on the cross. I offer these sufferings up in prayer for the lost souls for the already departed, for those that I see the light of Jesus Christ within them and yes I have seen and know a few. I am not angry or mad God did not cause this to happen, but he does give me the strength to endure. And maybe just maybe some of my suffering will take away some of the pain he endured for us. Just for us. It was far greater than mine and he did it for us.

No I know of only God as perfect, we all must work at our faith and prayer, and if we are given the gift of being a mystic use it for the benefit of others, it is a cross that one must bear. I am a sinner as all,but always try to be better, confession every two weeks and pentence. Prayer time everyday, with meditation. But not even close to perfect. Yes Ariel the resurrection is real and its power is what allows you and I to discuss it and to look forward to his return.

Very beautiful and touching.  In Colossi ans Paul has this to say about his sufferings and they were many:
24Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you,
and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard
to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his
body, which is the church.

This reminds us that by being one in Christ our sufferings are His and in so being are contributing to His
redemptive act .

I would recommend you to do the exercises of Falun Gong.  You can download them from the internet.
They are entirely compatible with Christianity and will have the effect of deepening your spiritual life and
also restoring your health.

Ron,
Thank you for your reply. It made me remember something I pushed to
the back of my mind.
25 years ago I met an old man who was dying of cancer. I was still
young and just married and the future bright and beautiful.
Our pastor asked us to visit this old man,so we went. We prayed for
wisdom and the right words to say and all that normal christian stuff.
What I saw there that day confused me so,I moved it to the deepest
recesses of my mind. You made it jump right back and at last I
understand!!
This old man, was send home by his doctors - nothing more they could
do. When we stepped into his room, you see this frail body in this big
bed - until he opened his eyes!. It was a shock to every system in my
universe, soul, spirit and body. His eyes were filled to the brim with
this abundent life. I couldn't understand it.
Then he started to talk!
He told is : he feel sorry for us, but we must hang in there, not to
give up, trust in the Lord. If we keep the faith we will overcome!
Stuff like that. I felt like the dying one!, and now I know - I was!
After your post, I was made to understand that that old man has found
the " His power of ressurection".
This old man was truly an overcomer. He has beaten Death - death
couldn't scare, hurt, dominate or control him. This old man has seen the
ressurection life, he has tasted it and he was living it. His spirit
was as tall as a skyscraper and there was no way his body could
contain it anymore.
It was a very unsettled experience for a 20 year old "know it all"
deacon.
I hear the same eco in your words.
You are on my prayer list.
God keep you

Dear Jan,

Thank you so much for your story. I am sure I am not half the man he was. But sometimes people like you and I are brought together as a result of the resurrection and how it affected all of us forever. My suffering is a blessing and I can touch the cross and relieve some of God’s suffering and give it up for those in need.Death or dying is not to be feared it is a step in the direction that I am seeking to be face to face with my God. When it is my time to make that step he will decide and the joy and hope that I have now will be even greater. I am a spiritual being on a human journey and death is only but a part of that journey.

You have a wonderful memory to keep for yourself and to share with others on how powerful the resurrection is and what it means to all of us. You will have a beautiful long life I can feel it in your words that you have great wisdom and love, and yes the light shines through you for all that look can see. To many people do not take the time to look, they are too busy thinking about what they must do next. I have always thought that with 66,400 seconds a day I could take a little time to thank God and the people that I meet. I thank you Jan, and am blessed to have met you.
