Rod in detail - Significance of Moses Rod/Rod !!!!!!!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Rod - Represent Kingdom/Government
Rod - Direct Heritage from God - Psalm 74:2
Rod - Symbolizing Authority - Job 9:34, Job 21:9, Psalm 89:32
Rod - Symbolizes The Word Of God
Rod - Miraculous supernatural power
Rod - Symbol of God's anger
Rod - Symbol of retribution
Rod - God's guidance
Rod - It matters in whose hands it is.
Rod - Insignificant stick turned into Wonders by God
Rod - Moses cannot transform dead to life and life to dead but Only GOD can do it.

Moses was commanded to “put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail”.

People who work with snakes will tell you that this is a recipe for disaster.

If you are going to pick up a snake, you should always grab it behind the head.

Moses was commanded to take the snake by the tail to teach him that he could trust the Lord to take care of him.

Moses when catches the rod, it represents God is surrendering the Egyptian Kingdom in Moses Hand

Rod in shepherd's hand is to safeguard both himself and his flock in danger

Rod in sheperd's hand is used both as a defense and a deterrent against anything that would attack.

Moses hold up his rod and the waters of the Red Sea part before the escaping Hebrews (Exodus 14:16).

He lifts up his rod and the Children of Israel prevail over their enemies (Exodus 17:9).

In the desert, he smites his rod against a rock and water flows (Numbers 20:11).

The rod of Levi blossoms as a plant and God designates the House of Levi as the true priests of Israel (Numbers 17:8).

"I will visit their iniquities with the rod and their transgressions with stripes" (Psalms 89:32).

The Assyrian king, conquering Judah, is "the rod of God's anger" (Isaiah 10:5).

Suffering Job cries out, "Let him take his rod away from me" (Job 9:34).

"Thy rod and staff, they comfort me" (Psalms 23:4)

God took that stick, that weak, powerless, dead, dry stick and used it in a mighty way, simply because Moses yielded it to the Lord. Had it remained in Moses’ hands, it would have held no power for God, but it would have held all power over his life. Because he yielded to the Lord,
he was freed from its power over him and he was free to use its power for the glory of God.

What Rod does ???
=================

Ø It was used to confront the Egyptian soothsayers – 7:12.

Ø  It was used to turn the waters of Egypt to blood – 7:17-20.

Ø  It was used to bring forth the plague of frogs – 8:5.

Ø  It was used to bring forth the plague of lice – 8:16.

Ø  It was used to bring forth the plague of thunder and hail – 9:23.

Ø  It was used to call and east wind that blew in the plague of locusts – 10:13.

Ø  It was used to part the Red Sea – 14:16.

Ø  It was used to cause the Red Sea to come together again, drowning Pharaoh and his army – 14:27.

Ø  It was used to bring water from a rock in the desert – 17:5.

Ø  It was used to bring victory over the Amalekites – 17:9.

The "rod", then, speaks of governmental power. But what is signified by the "casting down" of the rod to the ground? Surely it speaks of God delegating governmental power

Satan is no ‘free agent’ in the popular acceptation of that term, but is completely under God’s control, to be used by Him in fulfillment of His inscrutable counsels as He sees fit. Thus would Jehovah assure His servant at the outset that the enemy who would rage against him was unable to withstand him!

It is simply amazing to look over God’s arsenal and see the simple
weapons and instruments which He has used in His kingdom for the
achievement of great victories over His enemies. We find such things as
ram’s horns, trumpets, pitchers, lanterns, rods, jawbones, musical
instruments, handkerchiefs, slings, stones, hammers, nails, a vision of
blood, water, a sound in the trees, and other strange and manifestly
inadequate things. And yet with these same weapons we behold toppling
walls, sacked cities, destroyed armies, terrified nations, and kings, queens
and the mighty ones of earth brought down trembling, horrified and
overwhelmed before God.

Moses knew his insufficiency. He feared the consequences to himself, so he tried to get out of it, just like we often do.

To steady him, God gave Moses some unprecedented assurance. He said 3 things:

 “I will be with you.”
 “I will stretch out my hand.”
 “I AM that I AM.”

In our hands these things can be deadly—when given back to God they can bring deliverance to many. It depends on whose Hand it is

 A plain bar of iron is worth $5.00
 When made into a horse shoe it can be worth about $50
 When made into needles this same bar can make as many as $5,000 worth
 When made into springs for Swiss watches, this bar of iron could be worth as much as $500,000.
 A basketball in Michael Jordan's hands is worth about $33 million.
 A baseball in Mark McGuire's hands is worth $19 million
 A tennis racket in Pete Sampras' hands is a Wimbledon Championship.
 A sling shot in David's hand is a mighty weapon.
 Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in Jesus' hands will feed thousands
 Nails in Jesus Christ's hands will produce salvation for the entire world.

Look at your life and see what you hold. You may hold it in your hand, but it dominates and controls your life. This is an opportunity for you to be free from its pull and from its influence. Throw it down and let God have it. When you hold it, it is a liability. When you give it to Him, it becomes a spiritual asset!

Life is either about a dead stick or a powerful Saviour. Which is true in your life and mine will be determined by how much we are willing to place into His hands. Bring what you hold in your hands and cast it down before Him. Let Him take that liability and turn it into an asset for His glory.
