God chooses the humblest instruments.
He passes by the tempest, and waters the fields and gardens with His imperceptible dew.
He passes by the great elephant, and bestows the hues of sapphire and amethyst upon the tiny humming-bird.
He passes by the lofty pines and huge elm tree, and lavishes blossom and perfume on the violet.
All history teaches the same truth.

If we struggle, we sink. If we surrender, we swim, under His arm.
A “little maid” who witnessed to Namaan, the commander of the Syrian army. The people He chooses to represent Him often do not stand out from the crowd. Humble slave girl “fulfilled the purpose for which God chose Israel as a people.”
Why was her influence so powerful?
The inner is more important to God than the outer.
Our character is more important than our reputation.
Our standing with God is more important than our standing with people.
Our position with Him is more important than our position in society.
Eternal riches are more important than earthly treasure.
Faithfulness to God is more important than human applause.
Gideon who led 300 into a battle against thousands
The leaders God chooses are more broken than strong, more damaged than whole, and more troubled than secure
He chooses weak instruments so no one will attribute the power to the instruments but rather to the God who wields the instruments.
God chooses a person, He equips him, enables him, empowers him and even honors him.
We've got to have ears that are quick to listen, hearts that are ready to obey and feet that are willing to follow.
We don't decide our calling; we discern it! God told Isaiah "whom shall I send?", to which he replied, "here I am, send me"! God loves you has a wonderful plan for your life!
Acts 4:13-14 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say.
God's criteria are different from the criteria of the world. As Isaiah 55:8 says, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord."
When God chose Samuel to lead the nation, Samuel was just a young boy. When God looked for someone to kill a giant, He chose a young shepherd boy named David. When the fullness of time came and it was time to send His Son to this earth, God chose a young girl named Mary to give birth to the Savior of the world.
When it was time for Jesus to choose disciples, He didn't go to the theological institutes or seminaries of the day. Rather, Jesus chose disciples who knew more about fishing and tax-collecting than about the Scriptures. And when God searched for someone He could use to write the majority of the New Testament, He chose the apostle Paul, who was once one of the meanest Christian killers of all time!
The Old and New Testaments are filled with illustrations of people whom God wanted, but whom the world rejected. God's choice is not based on beauty or ugliness, talent or lack of talent, education or lack of education, a diploma or lack of a diploma. If a person has a right heart toward God, he is qualified to be used by God.
