Today would have been Scott Swanton's (1966-2024) 60th birthday.

Scott was at the heart of Christian Harmony singing in western North Carolina for his whole life; e.g. attending Etowah as a child. We do not yet have a "biography" for Scott, but you can see something of his part in the community at his page: https://www.christianharmony.org/singers/swanton-scott.html

Too young. I really miss him. Hugs--- Leslie

Oh give me tears for others’ woes,
And patience for my own!

He was young...  but he'd also packed quite a lot of life into those
relatively few years.   I recall that when I learned that his
brother-in-law
paid for him to have his failing teeth removed, so that he could get
proper dentures.  It was quite an operation, with an extensive recovery;
when I congratulated him, he said it was the first time in his whole life
his teeth didn't hurt.

I know Scott was thrilled with his new teeth, he wore them proudly to
the Spartanburg singing. He was able to eat lunch! We compared notes and
rejoiced in being pain free. He was able to eat peanuts! :)
