Located in the heart of New Providence, New Jersey, Hair Salon Body & Soul operates a full-service, state of the art hair salon and spa. With over 35 years of experience, our certified specialists are dedicated to providing you with the highest level of service available.

Maly's Midwest and Marshall Salon Services supply over 40,000 hair salons across 8 states in the Middle West with a network of 120 representatives and 90 stores, open only to professionals; they together represent sales of about $130m in 2009.

With these two acquisitions, the SalonCentric division of L'Oral USA is extending its network, which now covers 80% of the territory of the United States, demonstrating its constant determination to offer a better service to U.S. hair salons.

At Salon Wholesale, we cater to hair and beauty professionals, offering all the essentials to run your salon smoothly. Not only do we furnish you with top salon brands like L'Oral Professionnel, Wella, Goldwell, and Revlon, but we also ensure the most competitive prices. Your order will reach you swiftly, reliably, and in award-winning recycled and recyclable packaging, delivering to (almost) any location worldwide.

The network, called Transformation, currently comprises 10 salons across the island of Puerto Rico. In each salon, stylists have been trained to create a comfortable environment for those transitioning and provide specific guidance on hair, image and colour, to help trans customers achieve their desired look.

The True Self Foundation is a Puerto Rican non-profit organisation that works on behalf of communities of diversity in sexual orientation and gender identity to promote social mobility, wellbeing, and entrepreneurship and university access through the granting of scholarships. The organisation also helps lower the barrier to transitioning with partial scholarships for gender affirmation surgery and free legal services for changing names.

SalonCentric anticipates that the new marketplace will add 350 new vendors to its site. It currently sells around 100 brands online and in its 600 stores. It also anticipates being able to offer new categories on its site, including salon equipment and hair extensions.

The marketplace model has already swept the B2C e-commerce market. On top of Amazon, a wide range of retailers, like Walmart, have added marketplaces to their websites. SalonCentric developed its marketplace in partnership with marketplace SaaS platform Mirakl, which has also set up marketplaces for over 300 companies including B2C marketplaces on Feelunique, Galeries Lafayette and Urban Outfitters. Marketplace sales made up 62% of global e-commerce sales in 2020, according to Digital Commerce 360.

Amazon has increasingly been active in the B2B salon wholesale space. The Amazon Professional Beauty Store launched in 2019, and recently, the company opened a physical Amazon Salon in London. Amazon has also emerged as a channel for B2C sales of salon brands such as Paul Mitchell.

color&co essentially packages the salon hair colour experience and delivers it to your door in a personalised kit. The service enables customers to consult a professional hair colourist via video chat and discuss things like their desired hair colour, hair health, and any special care needs.

The color&co website enables customers to either arrange their live chat with a professional stylist or choose to answer a few quick questions online. Both options gather information about your hair health, length, texture, goals and of course, your desired hair colour.

You can order your colour kit as a one time purchase for $29.90 or a subscription service for $21.90. The frequency of delivery for subscriptions can be adjusted based on your preferences. Each colour kit is delivered with personalised application tools and instructions.

Getting shampooed at the salon has always been one of our favorite rituals. There's nothing quite like kicking back in a big chair, neck nestled in a specially curved sink as a stylist or assistant turns the usually mundane task of washing your hair into a mini massage you wish could go on forever. And now, getting shampooed at the salon won't just feel good sensorily. With a new L'Oral innovation called the Water Saver, you can feel good environmentally, too.

The L'Oral Water Saver is a breakthrough device that will allow salons to take a more sustainable approach to styling by upgrading the traditional shampoo, conditioning, and treatment experience in a water-conserving way that promises to make a major impact.

"We met this company out in Switzerland called Gjosa, an environmental tech startup, and they have this really cool technology, which takes a water droplet and makes it 10 times smaller," Guive Balooch, head of the L'Oral Technology Incubator, tells Allure. And amazingly, even though the amount of water is significantly reduced, your head won't be able to tell. Unlike low-flow systems, the pressure feels the same. "You have no difference in the sensation, but you use 80 percent less water."

The Water Saver's name is an understatement, however, because it does so much more than save water. The special showerhead emits micronized L'Oral and Kerastase hair-care formulas directly through the water stream, allowing for better absorption and faster rinsing.

"The system has three different modules. You can take a shampoo, an oil, a treatment, a powder, anything," Balooch tells Allure. "Because the water droplets are 10 times smaller, we can infuse and inject the formula through the system, and it will come out as a cloud foam and create a really new sensation." And all the while, you've saved an enormous amount of water compared to the usual salon-sink experience.

The L'Oral Water Saver is already available in select L'Oral salons in New York and Paris, and a global rollout is underway through 2022. Allure reached out to stylists at the handful of New York salons trying it first, and they are currently unable to comment. However, we will update this story with first-hand experiences once they are able to share their opinions.

"If we can get up to 10,000 salons by 2023, just that would save us one billion gallons of water a year," Balooch says. And because you're surely wondering, yes, in an estimated 18 months, a version for at-home showers is expected to launch along with an app to track how much water you're saving.

The program begins by explaining the typical causes of popular mental health conditions and how the brain reacts to these. Jepson and Mason Jones then go on to explain the importance of self-care, and how this can help to ease symptoms of such conditions. The pair outline how regular breaks for self-care, such as taking time out to eat during work, helps to increase the serotonin hormone that accounts for feelings of happiness, ultimately leading to better work for both clients and professionals. The program also goes beyond the salon, explaining ways professionals can stay on top of their mental health at home, through activities such as exercise. For those who may experience mental health symptoms including panic attacks, the program offers information surrounding breathing exercises that are said to help those in distress regain breathing and find a moment of calm. The final element of the course covers boundaries and how to set these out clearly, ensuring the best results for a work-life balance that benefits both clients and professionals.
