As I flew my Eagle on a cross country this weekend, I noticed I had plain worm the paint off several areas such as the canopy crossbar.

And in fact I have numerous spots on the frame that need some touchup / repaint.   Anyone found a good paint to use???   I have some vague memory that the paint and process the factory used on steel was not Imron, it was some Sherman Williams process and it also involved tube interiors and the like.

Thanks

Hi Rick,
I checked the build manuals when I was in my hangar today. The paint supplied with the kits was a black polyurethane enamel, catalyst and reducer. Can’t remember if it was Sherwin Williams or not, but I have touched mine up over the years with a good quality semi-gloss polyurethane and it has been compatible with the existing paint on my interior. It definitely wasn’t Imron. We had to purchase the Imron separately as people chose many different colors. Hope this info helps you with your touch up.
Take care,
