Hi All,

So long 2025 and hello to 2026. It’s that time of year again when we’re looking for another set of brave and helpful volunteers to step up and offer to run a talk/hacknight/whatever for Christchurch Ruby. 10/10 employers love seeing that you’ve presented at a meetup, so, get in early in order to secure a spot ;). Especially in this day and age of LLMs and in this economy it’s great networking. Probably we should be charging to present…. but…. we’ll leave that for this year I think ;)

As ever, an absolutely huge thanks to all our speakers last year, we really couldn’t & wouldn’t have done it without you.

Like last year, we have a doodle poll here -> https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/er7JWv4a/vote . Just tick the months you’d be prepared to give a talk (we’ll only pick you for one though!).

While you don’t have to decide now what you’re going to do, some ideas are:

  1. A talk on anything ruby related.
  2. A themed night (like, everyone bring along their worst bug.. / postgres tips etc.)
  3. A hacknight / puzzle night.
  4. A refactoring night
  5. Anything remotely tech related.
  6. Anything else, we’ll take anything ;)

So, please choose the months you could possibly do something for. As ever, it’s your meetup, so we do need your help to make it run smoothly.
