Happy Matariki everyone!

Next Thursday, Luke Arndt is bringing us a topic by popular choice: “What’s the deal with Rust?”.

"The Ruby and Rust programming languages are both optimised for developer happiness, though they express it in very different ways. Ruby hands us a powerful suite of high-level tools and trusts that we know what we’re doing, while Rust notices that we might blow up production and refuses to compile. It also lacks several features we might take for granted: try / catch, inheritance, garbage collection, and even nil.
Despite all of this, or maybe because of it, Rust has been growing on me lately. Let’s take a look together and I’ll show you a few of the things it can do."

Usual time and place: Thu 16th July 7:30pm @ Saltworks.

See you there!

Daniel
