Introduction to Live Sound Production
ILSP100-07W2: 1 - 22 Sept (Sat): 10.30am - 2.30pm
This "hands on" course will provide an introduction to live sound
production including: how a live sound system works, how to set up and
operate a basic sound system, how to produce a sound scape, use of
sound processors & mixing desks, the behaviour of sound in
different environments, health and safety, and common industry jargon
used.
The Circus Project
SSSA120-07W3: 1 Sep - 10 Nov (Sat): 12noon - 4pm
Based at The Circus School, this intensive course will give you a
taste of circus skills including stilt walking, acrobatics, rolabola,
tightwire, slackrope, juggling and much more. You will get the
opportunity to focus on what you most enjoy, and transfer those skills
into performance techniques.
Making Theatre & Physical Performance
SSSA217-07W3: 8 Sept - 10 Nov (Sat): 12noon - 4.00pm
This course offers methods for unlocking and expressing creativity
through theatre; using your imagination, body and voice. The course
includes acting and vocal technique, writing, text work, group work,
devising, excursions, films and performance opportunities.
Music Industry:
WCMI100-07W3: 15 Sep - 1 Dec (Sat): 12.30 - 4.30pm
Everything you wanted to know, and should, if you are either in a band
or looking to get involved in the music business, whether amateur
or professional. This course covers getting gigs, press kits,
media, funding, recording, touring, marketing, event management, and
exporting product. This is a must for all musicians and industry
practitioners.
Creative Writing
CRWR101-07W3: 22 Sep - 8 Dec (Sat): 1.30 - 5.30 pm
Explore the world of potential literature in this lively and
interactive course. Develop new writing techniques and examine some of
the innovators of the 20th Century literary arts such as: DADA, The
Beat Generation, The Oulipo, and innovative writing in New Zealand.
Participants will experience a multitude of forms from traditional
and experimental poetry writing, through to script and short story/
fiction development
Scriptwriting & Performance
SSSA215-07W3: 12 Oct - 14 Dec (Fri): 4.00 - 8.00pm
Experienced playwright, poet and published author, Kathleen Gallagher,
will lead you through the process of theatre production from
scriptwriting to performance. Come and immerse yourself in this highly
'hands-on' process and learn the techniques and processes involved in
writing and producing an original theatre experience.
