Monster Hunter Frontier is an online MMORPG on the PC and Xbox 360 with a great amount of new weapons, quests, armor, and monsters. The game will continue to expand with new content added through patches. There is currently a Japanese, Korean and Chinese (Taiwan and Macau) version of Frontier. The game has a built-in IP blocker that prevents IP addresses outside of Japan from connecting to the server, but it is still possible for residents in other countries to connect. The Korean Frontier requires a KSSN (Korean Social Security Number) in order to play but it does not carry the same monthly fee as the Japanese version.
Monster Hunter Frontier Online (モンスターハンター フロンティア オンライン, Monsutāhantā Furontia Onrain), later renamed as Monster Hunter Frontier Z, was a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) for Microsoft Windows, the first spin-off in the Monster Hunter franchise to appear on the platform. Monster Hunter Frontier was released on the Xbox 360 in Japan on June 24, 2010, where it sold 93,000 copies during its initial launch week.[1] It was continually updated through expansion packs known as Seasons and Forwards, which introduced new locations, armor sets, and new monsters. All Monster Hunter Frontier online services ended on December 18, 2019.[2][3]
It was a MMORPG for Monster Hunter that has been going around for a long while, added a bunch of monsters through updates, had 2 new weapons and all of it was only available only to Japanese players right? as in there was no western release?
Capcom announced Monster Hunter Frontier G on September 2, 2012, as a major update to Monster Hunter Frontier Online for the PC and Xbox 360.[5] The new update would include 10 new monsters, upgrade 21 current monsters to G-rank, over 150 G class weapons and armor sets, 30 new skills, 4 new elementals, and new actions for 11 weapon types.[6] It was also later announced that it would be released as a standalone game for the PlayStation 3 and Wii U around the end of 2013.

On July 5, the Monster Hunter Frontier official Twitter account made a tweet about what would have been the 15th anniversary of the game, with an illustration from an original designer on the game that featured standout NPCs and monsters. The tweets also invited others to share their memories and fanart with a hashtag campaign.
