Howdy folks,

I'm busier than ever right now, as my (now almost 4 month old) son Ben
is keeping me on my toes....but I wanted to let you know about a
couple of shows coming up, so here they are. Also, at the very end of
this note is information about a very worthy environmental project
that needs your vote to receive funding from the National Geographic
society.

Zapf Dingbats (David Bandrowski, guitar; Doug Walker, upright bass;
Dane Terry, harmonicas and yours truly on mandolin) will be playing at
10pm on Friday night in OB, along with our friends the Troubleweeds,
at Portugalia.

Then on Sunday, John Mailander (mandolin and fiddle) will join me at
Urban Solace for the bluegrass brunch starting at 10am. We play til
2. Come on out and hear John and I in one of our last duet
performances before he heads off to the Berklee College of Music in
Boston.

And if you don't get enough Dingbat jazz on Friday night, we play this
and every Monday at 7pm at the Turquoise in North PB. Bring your
dancin' shoes.

Details below. Hope to see you soon,
Chris

>> Vote for Kimball School <<
Kimball School, one of our schools on the west side of National City
is next to a wonderful salt marsh which they have been using as an
outdoor educational resource for many years. They are finalists in a
National Geographic competition for a $20,000 grant to create a real
scientific laboratory for our students. Out of 10 finalists, 5 will be
chosen, and one will be decided on the basis of popular votes. Go to
http://greeneffect.com and register there to be able to vote. Then
click on Margaret Godshalk's picture to view the video. After that,
click on the link to vote. You can vote once a day for the next 12
days (thru July 20)
