Howdy folks,
Before I get into my normal blather about gigs, etc, I want to tell
you that I awoke to some sad news on Friday - David Bandrowski's
father passed away unexpected yesterday. Please keep Dave & Jen in
your thoughts. As you know, Dave plays banjos with Plow and guitar
with Zapf Dingbats, along with other groups in both San Diego and New
Orleans. Dave will be taking a short hiatus, so this week's gigs at
the Turquoise on Monday and South Park Bar & Grill on Tuesday have

On a good note, Zapf Dingbats finished recording our demo on Thursday
night and we should have it ready for your listening pleasure in a few
weeks. Stay tuned for more on that.

Tonight (Halloween!) at the Red Barn in Wynola Springs - Sara Petite &
Chris Clarke, old-time country duets. Sara & I will be performing a
mix of original & traditional songs for the good people at the Wynola
Pizza Express. Show starts at 6pm and my son Ben will be there in his
glow-in-the-dark costume! Don't miss this special night of music.

San Diego Folk Heritage - On Saturday, November 7th, I'll be bringing
Zapf Dingbats & Plow to Templar's Hall in Old Poway Park for an
evening of old-time, bluegrass, swing, early jazz and whatever else
feels good. This promises to be an enjoyable evening of music from
the likes of Jelly Roll Morton, Bob Wills, Bill Monroe & David
Grisman, as well as a selection of original material from Plow & the
