On April 6, Paula (Foodiemommy) and I (Mike from Hamilton) were the
Chowhounders who met at the Chicago Style Pizza Hut for dinner.

We arrived at 4pm, however the restaurant opened at 4:30. By 4:15
there was a lineup and one of the servers let us in early as it was
still quite brisk outside.

We were allowed to select our tables and were promptly seated and
drink orders were taken. After a quick perusal of the menu and
discussion of take out orders from significant others both of whom
couldn't make it, we placed our orders.

I ordered the fried ravioli and antipasto salad for my dine in options
and a deep dish pizza and fried ravioli for takeout. Paula had the
baked manicotti and ordered a regular pizza and tiramisu for her
husband.

The other folks in line with us were obviously regulars and soon a
large group had overtaken the big table at the back and two smaller
tables.

The food was delicious as ever, I particularly enjoyed the antipasto
salad, the portion size was generous and the server was quite bemused
by my aversion to raw tomatoes (I'm allergic unless they are cooked to
a pulp).

By the time we were finished there was a lineup outside the door and
people anxiously waiting for an empty table. Definitely not a night
to linger and chat...

Paula and I discussed options for the next Chowmeet and rumblings of
Camp 31 were made and the discussion of carpooling...thoughts?

Sounds like it was a good night!  I'm really sorry I missed it.  My meeting was productive: we got the good folks at the City of Welland to give the Niagara Food Festival a $90,000 grant!

I love Camp 31.  Either a weeknight or early would be good; if we get a good group together, they might even let us reserve space.  If I bring my family and my brother brings his, that's 7 of us.

Cheers,
Ross
