Our next event affects every single D.C. resident.
On Tuesday, July 2, 2019 beginning at 6pm at Metropolitan AME Church, Congresswoman Norton will host a forum for all D.C. residents to discuss “D.C. Statehood and Community Building”. This forum is non-political and non-religious event. Instead, it is an ecumenical, public policy discussion between the Congresswoman and her constituents about the importance of D.C. Statehood. The event will include Q&A from the audience.
You may or may not know that on July 24, 2019, Chairman Cummings of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform will hold a public hearing on H.R. 51, which is Congresswoman Norton’s bill to provide for the admission of the State of Washington, D.C. into the Union. Therefore, ahead of the public hearing, we believe that Tuesday, July 2, 2019 beginning at 6pm at Metropolitan AME Church will be a great opportunity for D.C. residents to discuss this issue with their only Member of Congress.
