Background

The District’s annual agency-wide Truck Touch will be a part of this year’s One City Summer kickoff. City agencies and first responders will display the vehicles used to provide infrastructure support and emergency and medical services.  Agencies also will provide information and a wide variety of mobile services, from health screenings to voter registration information.

As part of One City Summer, multiple agencies (including DPR, DOES, DCPS, DCPL, MPD, FEMS, HSEMA, DOH, OSSE, Serve DC, DPW, DHS, DCHA, National Guard, DYRS, DMH and others) and community-based organizations supported through the DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation (CYITC) will offer safe, educational, recreational and nutritional activities, programs and services to District residents during the summer months. Participating agencies will have information tables at the kickoff event and provide details about their summer offerings. The day will include interactive activities for children and youth, free food, entertainment, giveaways, the skate mobile and fun wagon, basketball tournaments, moon bounces, and more. The afternoon will feature special entertainment for teens--all planned by youth.
