Muži a ženy pospolu Svatý Pavel říká: „Není už rozdíl mezi … mužem a ženou. Vy všichni jste jedno v Kristu…“ (Ga 3,28–29). Nové lidství, k němuž míříme, není bezpohlavní ani „unisex“ ani přehnaně sexistické – to všechno brání lásce. V Kristu jsme celiství, kompletní, spojeni v jedno, sjednoceni. Naše bytost se stává celá svatou. To je konečný výsledek působení Ducha, který všechny věci sjednocuje. Je to dokonalé dílo Boží v Kristu, který v sobě usmiřuje všechny věci (Ko 1,20) a zve nás ke sjednocení všech věcí (Ef 1,3–14). Muži mají být obráceni k ženskému a ženy k mužskému elementu. Možná proto Bůh učinil přitažlivost pohlaví tak mocnou. Když jsme obráceni k „ne-já“, všechno se mění. Tím přistupujeme ke skutečné náboženské konverzi k absolutnímu „ne-já“: k Bohu. Z této celistvé a ústřední polohy vidíme jinýma očima, než jsou ty naše poloslepé. Vidíme druhou stranu věcí, a tím se stává možným odpuštění. Vidíme, že protivník není nepřítel, ale duchovní pomocník. Jakmile jsme se již jednou setkali se svým duchovním opozitem a přijali ho, pak už není nic, co bychom museli bránit a čeho bychom se museli bát.

Men and Women Together St. Paul says, “There can be neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). The new humanity that we are pointed toward is not neuter, unisex or oversexed, all of which make love impossible. In Christ we are whole, one, in union, integrated. The self becomes wholly holy. That is the final product of the Spirit making all things one. It is the consummate achievement of God in Christ who reconciles all things within himself (Colossians 1:2D) and invites us into the ongoing reconciliation of all things (Ephesians 1:3-14). Men must be converted to the feminine, women to the masculine. Maybe that is why God made sexual attraction so compelling. If we are converted to the non-self, everything changes. Thereby we approach authentic religious conversion toward the utter not-me: God. From the whole – and center – position, we see through eyes other than our own half-blinded ones. We see the other side of things and forgiveness becomes possible. We see that the enemy is not enemy but spiritual helpmate.
