Stavební kámen Boží Základním kamenem, na němž Bůh staví své sebesdílení, nejsou „spasení“ jednotlivci nebo přeinformovaní věřící, nebo dokonce osobní kariéry, jichž kdo dosáhl v církevních službách. Je jím putování a proces vzájemného propojování v manželstvích, rodinách, kmenech, národech, v lidech a církvích snažících se vstupovat do jeho lásky. Boží strategií je Tělo Kristovo, duchovní rodina. Toto je současně jak prostředí, tak poselství. Je to jak počátek, tak konec: „…aby všichni byli jedno, aby tak svět uvěřil, že ty jsi mě poslal, aby byli jedno, jako my jsme jed­no“ (J 17,21–22). Dokud nebude Kristus tím, kdo působí uprostřed svého lidu, zůstane evangelium povětšinou abstrakcí. Pokud Kristus nebude mezi námi osobně předáván skrze věrnost a odpuštění, skrze pouta jednoty, pochybuji, zda bude vůbec předáván.

Until Christ is someone happening between people, the gospel remains largely an abstraction.
