Podřídit se panství Krista Církev je jako Jan Křtitel, je jako Ježíšovo tělo. Ježíšovo tělo muselo umřít pro příchod království Božího; Jan Křtitel musel ukazovat nad sebe na království Boží. Církev není sama o sobě cílem; církev je prostředek. Království Boží je cíl. A kdykoli uděláme z prostředku cíl, stvořili jsme modlu. V Bibli je hlavním hříchem právě toto – a možná i hříchem jediným.
