Vystoupit do ticha Musíme se učit důvěřovat Bohu. Rozvíjet tuto důvěru stojí za zvláštní pozornost, stojí to za to, abychom si udělali čas, modlili se a ztišili se před Bohem. Zdá se to nepraktické, ale cesta víry není cestou výkonu. Bůh nás nepovolal k efektivní cestě života. Jsme povoláni k cestě víry. Mnohé spočívá v naslouchání a čekání. Čas od času musíme vstoupit do Božího ticha. Musíme rozprostřít rouno, jako to učinil Gedeon (viz Sd 6,37–40). Pak učiníme krok ven a uvidíme, zda nás Bůh podpoří. Může to být velký čin víry, jestliže vyrazíme vpřed a budeme jednat podle své nejlepší intuice, v předtuše, že k nám promlouvá Pán. Bůh působí skrze důvěru. Jestliže se vydáme kupředu v duchu modlitby, můžeme důvěřovat, že Pán zde bude přítomen, i kdybychom se měli mýlit.

Step Out in Silence We must learn to trust God. Developing that trust is worth some particular attention, worth making time to stop and pray, and be quiet in God. That may be impractical, but the way of faith is not the way of efficiency. God has not called us to an efficient way of life. We are called to a way of faith. Much is a matter of listening and waiting. At times we have to step into God’s silence. We have to put out the fleece as Gideon did Judges 6:37-40). Then we step out and see if God backs us up. It can be a greater act of faith, to go ahead and act on our own best intuition and presume that the Lord is speaking to us. God works through trust. When moving forward is done out of a spirit of prayer, we can trust the Lord will be there, even if we are mistaken. from The Great Themes of Scripture
