Modlitba svatého Františka Náš otec svatý František nám zanechal pouze modlitby chval. Jednoduše kráčel svým životem a nacházel nové věci, za které je třeba Boha chválit na každém kroku: maličkosti, přírodu, stvoření, zvířata, situace, bratry – za vše, co se děje, chválí František Boha. Nikdy o Boží lásku neusiluje, oslavuje ji. Stále oslavuje Boží lásku ve všem, co vidí a zakouší. Zralá modlitba vždy propuká ve vděčnost. Modlitba dlí v tichu, dokud nás neztiší, připravuje vděčnost, dokud sami nejsme vděčni, chválí Boha, dokud my sami se nestaneme skutkem chválou.

St. Francis’ Prayer Our father St. Francis passed on to us only prayers of praise. He went simply through his life finding new things for which to praise God at every turn: the little things, nature, the creatures, the animals, situations, his brothers – for whatever is happening, he praises God. Francis is never achieving God’s love; he is celebrating it! He continually celebrates God’s love in everything he sees and experiences. Mature prayer always breaks into gratitude.
