Proroci v našich domovských městech Proroci bývali jednou nohou v Izraeli a jednou nohou mimo něj. Stejně i ty musíš být jednou nohou ve společenství své víry a jednou nohou ve světě. Musíme vždy nalézt svou lásku a pak ji vydávat ze sebe. Dávat nebo chápat není vždy snadné. Musíme milovat tam, kde jsme k lásce povoláni, což někdy znamená milovat lidi a instituce, kteří nás opravdu odpuzují. Proroci vždy milovali Izrael; vždy mu byli věrni. Věřili, že Hospodin používá Izrael, aby světu hlásal svou přítomnost a lásku. Neměli pocit, že by byli lepší než Izrael. Věděli jen, že k tomu národu musí promluvit slovo pravdy. Ačkoli jim tento svět přinášel utrpení, přinášel jim Izrael utrpení ještě větší.
