Now that I scored a propane torpedo heater at Menards for $84 I can work in
the garage.

I've got this Radian (YX600 or FZ600, maybe FJ600) and I want to remove the
carbs. I loosened the 8 clamp screws and two bolts holding the airbox to
the frame and not much was moving.

Has anyone recently removed (and then re-installed) the 4 carbs from a
Radian? Is this just one of those very difficult carb removal and
re-installs or is there a trick?

Does anyone have a manual (Clymer, Yam, Hayes) for the Radian? And can I
come look at it?

Thanks

It's been my experience that it's nothing short of a wrestling match !
Get the boots nice worm then spray something slippery on them and just start prying .
They suck . And I don't mean that as a carburetor pun.  You should try the ones on a Honda Magna !  ; /

I got a copy of the key pages of the manual from Brett.  It shows about a dozen pesky bolts/screws which fix the air box and battery box in place.  It is now clear to me that once I remove those I can then move the air boots off the carbs and they will come out easier.  (at least hope it is easy).

I've done my share of wrestling a bank of carbs on/off an in line 4 and just like wrestling the sport it is more technique than brute force.  Besides:  lazy + cold + (time/projects) = (don't re-invent the wheel)

This is going to sound harsh...but I have had luck with a small 12" crowbar/pry bar.  Put the curvy end against a thin piece of wood rested against the engine fins, and the forked end against the fat part of the carb frame.  Pry gently and work the left bank and then the right bank.  They should come free as long as all holders have been released.

Ibid what Jeff says.  Warm loob and a good pull. I mean pry.  Oh, be GOOD!

Sorry. Had to.
