auto parts store equivalent to yamabond

So if you were to walk into a chicago area auto parts store and head over to the silly-cone section, what would you buy that is the closest equivalent to yamabond?

this is for sealing two case halves together.

I was going to go with Permatex Grey. what do you guys use?

What are you putting together?  For case halves, I've used the purple gasket dressing in the brush can in a pinch.  Gaskets the same, and it works for rubber bits in a pinch.  Of course, I also have a tube of dreibond hanging out.
