DREAM Act Event Tomorrow

Hello CHISPAS members, 

This is a friendly reminder that we will be co-sponsoring an event with UF Black Law Student Association tomorrow, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. in the Law School room HOL 285C. 

Please join us for an evening of insightful discussions about the Dream Act. Professor King will give opening comments about the legal implications of the DREAM Act and then Manuel Guerra, an activist for the DREAM Act, will share his personal struggles with immigration. A member of the Interfaith Alliance for Immigrant Justice willl also discuss grassroot organizations and the Dream Act. There will be a 15 minute period for Q & A from the audience with Professor King, Manuel Guerra, and the Interfaith Alliance for Immigrant Justice.

Food will be served. 

Also, our general body meeting is on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. in meeting room 286 of the Reitz Union. We will be having a workshop of lobbying and advocacy--come learn new ways to be a leader and spread awareness about issues you are passionate about.
