So, I've been trying to redo the site for ages now in something other
than dreamweaver, I'm not a coder but I can design (a little)... So I
started to use Flux (cool mac app) but it seems to code everything up
to for html 5 which is great but micro$oft IE is THE worlds most NON
compliant browser and guess what? It hardly suports html let alone
anything remotely cool like text effects... so, thankfully I managed
to get some help and have hand written the code and kept it all
amazingly tidy, I hope it works on all broswers so before I roll out
and finish the whole site can you please let me know if the page
displays correctly, in the middle etc... If it doesn't then I need to
know what browser you're using.

None of the links are live but it should be using a font called myriad
pro so it should not look anything like time new roman (unless you're
on an iphone - it's on the list of things to fix).

Hey John,

The site looks good from here on IE6, IE8 and firefox 3.5.7,
I know the pain you are talking about I have to code for all browsers
And internet explorer is the worst, I don't think Microsoft should be
allowed to produce any software let alone browsers :)

Micro$oft is really good at making things funny - I've found an error
in windows7 tcp/ip stack implementation :) already tested and added to
my final project at uni - he he he he he he !! Have I ever mentioned
that I love them micro@oft guys ?? They make my life so easy and my
project looking so smart :D

All the links now work (to blank pages) but i've broken IE 6...
actually I'm not convinced it ever worked 100% as it adds an extra
blank space under the navigation bar because the text is right
justified... go figure. Could make the div smaller but I'll get the
same issue with anything i choose to right justify so as it's
officially not supported by google so that's good enough for me.

If anyone is still using IE 6 then you need to follow the instructions
below to the letter...
a) leave the club
b) hand in your pc ASAP.
c) take up thuggiejutsu
d) find the nearest motorway and...

fonts not optimised yet...

graphics not optimised yet either so they are in png format, might
keep them that way to get away from badly optimised jpegs.

What else should be on the front page?

I get worried when you get bored John but generally this looks good,
which layout are you going ahead with now? Hopefully this email will
reach you before you get bored again and we will have a third layout to
think about lol

The only thing I would say is that the navigation area takes so much
space from the main area. Big grey empty space after the text. But
that's just my thought and I haven't been to the specsavers lately so it
could my eyes ;)

Thanks for the feedback...

In all likeyhood I'll be going with this layout, I wanted to make the
site more flexable, the main information area on the right is the same
size as the old layout and I do have some plans for the grey expanse
that is the navigation area, the layout isn't quite finished yet ;).
I'll either be redesigning the main banner section which would allow
me to make the nav panel a bit shallower or integrating some sort of
image or slideshow into the nav panel, decisions decisions! Still not
finished tweaking the fonts yet either ;).

I got bored again, I like the older one and this new one sooo... I
have a idea to combine elements of both. I think onve this is finished
I'm just going to replace the site lol. No more testing haha. If you
check http://www.chishindojo.co.uk/testing-area/index.html at various
times over the weekend you'll probably see the new layout (it's in my
head at the moment).

So, ignore the current one and the old one lolol. It's mainly the
navigation i dislike of the old layout, the blue bar is annoying but
the new layout needs more shabang. And no more rounded corners either.
Oh, and the larger images are coming back too.
