Well, all of Himiway's ideals are wrapped up in the rather tank-like Zebra. I say \"tank-like\" because while I was riding this thing around town, I couldn't help but feel like I was on a moped or even a smaller motorcycle.

I just got my Himiway Zebra for my 60th birthday and I love it ! I am female 5ft 6inches tall and weigh 67kg - when I first saw the bike I was actually a it scared ! It looked q bit like a motorbike! However I got over my fear very quickly and am now zooming about on it .I want downhill today at 45km/ hrs- it was great ! I have been a few long trips 40miles and the battery is fab - it on went down 2 bars and I was on full power, hardly pedalling on the way back .I am not technical but suffice to say the bike is really good fun and I love it !

Rode bike all through mountains in Colorado. It was wonderful! Battery had 1 bar left after aprx 40miles. That was pedaling with assistance. I was going up some pretty steep mountains too. Love my bike!

I recommend Himiway Cobra to anyone that has any interest. Bike is really a head turner and while quite large and heavy, I very much enjoy the freedom it has provided. For me, it's the ability to bring to so many places both on the road and close to home. Really it has connected me with the world around me and works so good, all I can say is that it's been an absolute pleasure owning and using this bike.

"Himiway Cobra was the best value in a full suspension fat tire ebike I could find by far in March 2023. Got to Texas in a week. Easy to assemble. Good printed manual and online assembly video. Included a nice multi tool and hat. Great range. Took 20 off road miles over 5 days to drop one notch on the battery charge meter. Suspension works very well. I needed to lower the pressure in the shock a bit and this made a huge difference. Suspension is very helpful over rough ground. Nice seat. Heavy, but that's the price you pay. Will handle any terrain this fifty-seven year old wants to traverse. Finds a comfort/capability sweet spot I appreciate. Not sure why the coverage of this bike in online magazines is so sparse. Glad I came across this bike. Torque sensor is way nicer than the cadence sensor I tried on a rental ebike. Great job Himiway. How about some fenders/rack?"

Some have described it as "Fort Collins' best holiday". Others love the celebration of people who ride bicycles. Some hosts want to contribute to our Platinum-designated bicycle culture and community. During BT(W)D, community members are encouraged to travel by bike wherever they're headed, be it work, errands, to drop kids to daycare, or just for fun. Participants who ditch the car in favor of a bicycle can find free breakfast located all around Fort Collins. Some participants try to hit as many stations as possible. Others are happy to find a scenic spot to comingle with a few other folks. The point is to get on your bike wherever you're headed that morning!

The ceremony will also include a few words from Councilmember Tricia Canonico, music by Eastwood & Holly, recognition of our Golden Handlebar award recipients The Signs and Pavement Markings Team, and custom 2024 swag.

Tell us how many stations you visited to help us estimate Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day participation. You could win cool prizes by taking our brief survey to tell us about your Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day experience. To be eligible for prize drawings, complete our survey by 5:00 p.m. on July 5, 2024.

Not only is this great so we can know how we are doing and estimate participation, but it also helps us calculate the carbon emissions avoided by looking at the reduction in motor vehicle miles traveled. For example, the 2023 event had about 5,408 participants with an average commute of 8.2 miles. That is equal to replacing 44,236 motor vehicle miles traveled, and is about the annual energy use of 2 single-family homes. We can't wait to see this years results!

Is your bike in need of a little love? If you choose to participate in Bike to Work (or Wherever) Days by bike, several stations typically include a local bike mechanic who is happy to check over your bike. They'll conduct a free safety check and make minor adjustments to help you enjoy a more comfortable ride.

If your bike is in need of more serious attention, station mechanics can help you identify issues so you can make an appointment at a full-service provider to get you safely back to riding on a regular basis.

Bike mechanics at Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Bike mechanics may not be able to fix major issues during the event. Check the Station Map (when available) to find a station with a bike mechanic.

Check out our Celebration Toolkit for ideas of how you can modify your Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day celebrations and tailor them for a more intimate engagement for just neighbors or employee-only celebrations.

A bike box is a designated area at the head of a traffic lane at a signalized intersection that provides bicyclists with a safe and visible way to get ahead of queuing traffic during the red signal phase.

Click on the images below to view 3D concepts of a bike box. The configurations shown are based on Columbus, OH, Madison, WI, and Portland, OR, bike boxes.

Treatment details can be accessed below under design guidance.

Typical Applications

  • At signalized intersections with high volumes of bicycles and/or motor vehicles, especially those with frequent bicyclist left-turns and/or motorist right-turns.
  • Where there may be right or left-turning conflicts between bicyclists and motorists.
  • Where there is a desire to better accommodate left turning bicycle traffic.
  • Where a left turn is required to follow a designated bike route, access a shared-use path, or when the bicycle lane moves to the left side of the street.
  • When the dominant motor vehicle traffic flows right and bicycle traffic continues through (such as a Y intersection or access ramp).

Required Bike Box FeaturesA box formed by transverse lines shall be used to hold queuing bicyclists, typically 10-16 feet deep. Deeper boxes show less encroachment by motor vehicles.Read More+

An egress lane should be used to clearly define the potential area of conflict between motorists and bicyclists in the intersection when intersection is operating on a green signal indication. Read More+

Refer to intersection crossing markings in this guide. Colored pavement or other markings may be used to define the potential area of conflict. An egress lane should not be used when there is no complimentary bicycle facility or lane on the far side of the intersection.

Stop lines may be placed up to 7 feet in advance of the bike box space to limit encroachment by motor vehicles. The box may be setback from the pedestrian crossing to minimize encroachment by cyclists into the pedestrian crossing.Bike boxes may extend across multiple travel lanes to facilitate bicyclist left turn positioning. A two-stage turn queue box may be an alternative approach to facilitating left turns where there are multiple vehicle through lanes. Read More+
To traverse a multi-lane bike box, significant lateral movement by the bicyclist is needed. This maneuver can take time and could potentially create conflicts by providing a green light for motorists while bicyclists are moving laterally through the bike box . For this reason, careful consideration should be given before applying.Bike boxes may be combined with an exclusive bicycle signal phase or leading bicycle interval through the use of bicycle signal heads to allow clearance of the bicycle queue prior to the green indication for motorists.
