I installed the anti-virus - Quickheal trial version and then uninstalled it in order to install another anti-virus. Quickheal seemed to have left this program which runs in the background and simply wont die. I am on windows 7 - 32 bit. I am the sole administrator of the computer. I tried to kill the process-tree via the taskmanager. It says "operation could not be completed - access denied". I tried the services.exe method.
In services.exe this one is defined as CoreBrowsing Protection. On right-click I found that I do not have any option to stop the process. Neither I was able to control its auto-start options. The path to the program is "C:\Program Files\Quick Heal\Quick Heal Total Security\ScSecSvc.exe".
I tried process-explorer which returns the same "access-denied" message. I tried process-hacker which was able to kill the process but then immediately returns back into the task manager.I tried the cmd method with taskkill /IM "scsecsvc.exe" /T /F , again says access denied.
When users here get infections like this, with executables or processes that get left behind, I usually remove them from safe mode. I'd recommend giving that a shot. Safe mode will open Windows with the bare minimum of services running, which usually allows you to remove files that have processes that won't stop running. Hope that helps!
While you are waiting for the next qualified/approved malware removal expert helper to weigh in on your topic, and even though you may have previously run a Malwarebytes Threat Scan, please launch/update MBAM and run an unmodified/default Threat Scan.
when i first installed third party antivirus i was able to open windows security app. but after i tried to install pirated game , it is not opening. when i checked windows defender folder in programdata ,data from the subfolders were deleted.
I would urge you highly to stay far away from hack / cracked software of any sort. Whether a so called free program or free game, or whatever.

Make very very sure you have uninstalled the pirated game AND have deleted the downloaded file(s) for that too.
Make very sure this machine now has NO pirated stuff, or hacked or cracked applications, games, etc.
The "pirated" stuff came bundled with malware, which has removed at least 2 important Windows security services.
We have much work to do ahead.
There is a compound situation on this machine. That is , Quick Heal AntiVirus Pro is installed. Is that a paid license ? or is it a Trial ? Can you Uninstall Quick Heal and Restart the Windows system. Then later we can do some other checks and procedures.
--> i tried running defender manually from services and i noticed one thing. for defender network inspection service path is set to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Platform\4.18.2205.7-0\NisSrv.exe" but that platform folder is still empty.

Given the scale of Microsoft 365, it would be impossible to keep customer data resilient and safe from malware without built-in monitoring that is comprehensive, alerting that is intelligent, and self-healing that is fast and reliable. Monitoring a set of services at the scale of Microsoft 365 is challenging. New mindsets and methodologies needed to be introduced, and new sets of technology needed to be created to operate and manage services in a connected global environment. We've moved away from the traditional monitoring approach of data collection and filtering to create alerts to an approach that is based on data analysis; taking signals and building confidence in that data and then using automation to recover or resolve the issue. This approach helps take humans out of the recovery equation, which in turn makes operations less expensive, faster, and less error prone.
Microsoft 365 uses outside-in monitoring, which involves creating synthetic transactions to test everything that is important. For example, in Exchange each scenario is testing every database worldwide every five minutes in a scattered fashion, providing near continuous coverage of everything that lives in the system. From multiple locations, 250 million test transactions per day are performed to create a robust baseline or heartbeat for the service.
Microsoft 365 also uses the concept of Red Alert, which shrinks down all the monitoring signals from all of the machines in our datacenters to something manageable by a human being. The concept is simple: If something is happening across multiple signals, there must be something going on. It isn't about building confidence in one signal, it's about having reasonable fidelity for each signal so that you get greater accuracy. This monitoring system is so powerful that we don't have 24x7 staff watching our monitors; all we have is the machinery that wakes up if it detects a problem, in which case it will page the appropriate on-call personnel, or more often as is the case, it will just go ahead and solve the problem. Once we start collecting signals and building red alerts off them, we can start triangulating across all our service partitions.

Exchange servers are deployed in a configuration that stores multiple databases and their log streams on the same non-RAID disk. This configuration is often referred to as just a bunch of disks (JBOD) because no storage redundancy mechanisms, such as RAID, are being used to duplicate the data on the disk. When a disk fails in a JBOD environment, the data on that disk is lost.
Given the size of Exchange and the fact that deployed within it are millions of disk drives, disk drive failures are a regular occurrence in Exchange. In fact, more than 100 fail every day. When a disk fails in an on-premises enterprise deployment, an administrator must manually replace the failed disk and restore the affected data. In a cloud deployment the size of Microsoft 365, having operators (cloud administrators) manually replacing disks is neither practical or economically feasible.
