Hi everybody,
For research purposes we want to prototype one (slightly modified) BOOM core (Mega-config) on an FPGA, boot Linux on it, and run many (lengthy) benchmark suites like SPEC CPU 2017.
We did this before with the VCU118 board, which is nicely supported by Chipyard. We are buying another FPGA now and want to make a good decision, as it is expensive.
We are wondering if it is wise to buy a newer-generation FPGA board by now, or that is better to stick with another VCU118.
1. Does Chipyard have any plans on explicitly supporting other, newer, FPGAs in the (very) near future?
2. Any other advice on what to buy?
Kind regards,
