Hi all
We are looking to get some wood chippings but preferably of the free kind, just wandering if anyone knows of a source or whether we could ask the council to dump some which anyone could then use.
Thanks Siobhan and Steve

Hi,
I've tried lots of times to get the council to give us some for the shared plot at the east end of the allotment (by the football field), but to no avail.

I do know some poeple on the alotment got some chippings but they arranged that privately and I believe they paid for a load.

I could ask them where if you like?

Nick

I might have access to a 2 tonnes of chippings for free, but they need to be dumped somewhere.

That is excellent news.

Clearly Steve and Siobhan would like some, but can we say half to them ( if they want them) and the rest to the communal plot, to be dropped on the last plot at the far end by the small gate.

Dear Nick,

Please would you remove us from your mailing list as we no longer have an allotment at Chippingfield

 Many thanks

Is there any way we could get Kier to strim/clear the shared plot before the wood chips are deposited?
Although I have lots to do on my plot, I miss the actual digging as I lost 4 stone doing my plot this winter.
If you can get the communal plot cleared (strummed or flamed) and have the wood chips put to one side, I will gladly go back to my 2-3 hour a day digging diet - certainly a lot cheaper than the gym.

I think they wont, we did ask before. I can ask again.

4 stone ! Wow !! Sounds like a really good work-out regime

If the council won't do it I'm definitely game for a fair crack at strimming. I just need to find a place to get mine fixed, unless someone can lend me theirs.

Nick
