Thisarticle will serve as a short guide on how to start playing the game, and what steps are best taken in order to create a thriving civilization. Information contained here should not be viewed as "the" correct way of playing the game, as there is no truly correct way of playing.
The first thing you'll notice is the world in-front of you, also known as the Mother Planet. It will be randomly generated each time you start a new game, so it will never look the same as the last. It will also have similar characteristics to that of Earth such as water, greenery, the four seasons, clouds, blue skies, etc.
The epicenter is the first building you will place on the mother planet. It serves as the central and most important place on the planet. Once built, it will create four Nuggets for you to begin your civilization with. Two of them will be adults, with the other two being children.
It is strongly suggested that the epicenter be placed in an area close to a body of water, a forest, and a patch of loose rocks. These will serve as the starting resources that your nuggets can use to advance themselves, construct new buildings, and to stay alive. Having these resources nearby will result in less travel time for your nuggets.
With your first four nuggets, the adults will immediately head out to gather resources while the children wander around. At the start, you should command your nuggets to build a Well to create a fresh drinking water supply.
To do this, click on the hammer icon located at the bottom left of the screen. It will open the Buildings menu. The well will be located in the epicenter category. After you click on it, the well's silhouette will hover under the mouse similar to how the epicenter did.
While the well is being built, if you have two or more bodies of water near your epicenter, you can use this time to plan how to use them. You can use both for gathering water with Water Pumps, or you can start gathering food with the Fisher Piers.
Regardless, having more bodies of water helps speed up the gathering rate for these two very important resources. Once the well is complete, it's recommended you begin building a water pump. Most buildings require the water pump in order to operate.
Once the pump is complete, you need to start planning for food. You can go the fishing route, or you can build Farms and plant crops. If you decide to go with farms, you may need to construct an additional water pump to have a healthy supply of water for the crops to grow.
There are different kinds of crops in the game. Some will grow better in different biomes, while others can only grow in specific temperatures. Some crops take longer until harvest but yield more food, and vise-versa.
By this point, you should have more adults working for you. The next building should be the Engineer's Hut. This will allow you to make repairs to your existing buildings so they won't collapse on themselves. If buildings begin to collapse, it'll put a drain on your resources as you re-construct them from the ground up.
At this point you should also consider building a Hospital or a Cemetery. Injured nuggets will begin loosing health if not healed, and dead nuggets can leave patches of illness near their corpses if not buried quickly.
At this point you can now decide if you want to convert the raw food the nuggets collect into prepared meals by building an Eatery. You can also gain better insight on future temperatures and seasonal changes with the Forecast Tower.
As your civilization continues to grow in population, you need to start adding more of the same buildings in order to keep up with demands. More water pumps, more farms, more fishing huts, more hospitals, etc.

In The Universim, nature is just as wonderful and unpredictable as ever. Every planet comes with a few surprises that are sure to challenge your civilization. From tornadoes that consume everything in their path, to thunderous earthquakes that threaten to split your civilization in two. If you treat nature poorly, it might just show you how brutal and unforgiving it can be. Each planet you encounter will have a unique underbelly. Some planets are tranquil and filled to the brim with resources, while others are barren and dangerous. Be careful out there!
These are living, breathing worlds where everything is interconnected. We aim to provide you with an unique experience unlike any of the god games you have played before. Every decision you or your civilization makes will have consequences.
Your journey begins with a blank slate. There will only be two Nuggets at first, Adahy and Elu. They are the first of their kind, a spark of life that will change the world forever. As Nuggets progress, their technology evolves alongside them. You will watch as crude stone huts transform into architectural wonders and the fires that once protected your civilization are replaced by the magic of electricity.
What kind of god will you be? Will your civilization become heavily dependent on natural resources, consuming fluffy bunnies and nonrenewable resources in equal measure? Or will you guide them towards a more sustainable future that relies on agricultural proficiency, responsible hunting, and green energy? You have the tools to change everything, and your actions have far-reaching implications.

Thank you to everyone who stayed with us and supported us regardless of the circumstances. It means the world to us. We have the best community ever and we are happy to have you all with us. Happy holidays!
At this moment, we are relieved to say that we are at the finish line. We just finished with 4 main events that will lead to the ending of the game. We are left with the task of balancing a portion of those events as well as the main event taking place on another planet. After that, we will enter a polishing stage which will involve work such as fixing bugs, visual issues, localization issues, gameplay issues, and balance tweaks. This is the final update before we go live with 1.0. It is hard to believe that we are almost there. It was an amazing time and we are happy to see everyone who stayed with us through the years and helped us grow. Once again, thank you!
Now, let's talk a little bit about this update. This update brings some of the most requested content to The Universim. More military and combat. We reworked our exile system in order to support the combat along with our flying units system. It was a large scope addition and it took a bit longer than we expected, but it is finally here. You are now able to build your military Nuggets alongside Tanks and Helicopters. Exiles will do the same. Make sure you are staying on their good side. Not feeling friendly? Destroy the exiles before they can even get a chance to build and expand their forces. Up to you. This update also introduces new buildings to support new units along with bug fixes and some improvements.
Both buildings will help Nuggets to start the mass production of Tanks and Helicopters, respectively. Each building is able to contain a maximum of 5 units. More units can be built with the addition of extra Hangars and Heliports. You will be able to build up to 5 buildings, totaling the amount of Tanks and Helicopters to 25 each.
Bombers have received their own building. Each Bomber building can contain up to 5 bombers, similar to the Hangar & Heliport. Previously, Bombers were unlocked along with regular soldier Nuggets. This time around, they were moved towards the Modern Age and will be unlocked along with Modern Age upgrades for the Soldiers.
Overall, the combat system works similarly to the rock, paper, scissors approach. Tanks are quite strong against Soldiers and Buildings with their main power being the destruction of ground units. Helicopters, on the other hand, deal a great amount of damage to Tanks and other Helicopters but tend to be weaker against Soldiers. Soldiers can easily eliminate a squad of Helicopters, therefore punishing forces that have a limited amount of heavy military vehicles.
Along with the new additions to combat, we also reworked the entire panel. Now, every military building can be placed within one panel, eliminating the tedious process of adding a new building via the construction panel. Along with this newfound functionality, you will be able to see all exiles on a radar, their creator, and their military power. Through this panel, it is also possible to send all units from the Barracks, Hangars, and Heliports to attack or send only a single squad to be selected for the attack.
