Endure A

So, in all of Leslie's summary and all of the PG records we used to validate dogs, there are just two known Endures noted.  Given the plethora of Rikkis, Myrras, etc, it is refreshing to have just two dogs with the same name!

Both Endures are noted as litter brothers- from the PG Dukavik 1946 x PG Myah 1949 litter born on 10/18/51.  There is PG Endure - Delp, of Lancaster PA who later went to live at a Sisterian Monastery in VA, and there is PG Endure - Dimock of Manchester, CT.

We have a single unknown Endure- PG Endure A.  He is first noted as a sire to a litter born in Jan 1960, and then sired several other litters (14!) with almost every bitch in the kennels through January of 1964.  This Endure (presumably) is noted as having died in October of 1964.

So- does anyone happen to have anything about PG Endure-DImock being returned to the kennels as so many dogs were?  The timeline fits perfectly, and there are literally no other Endures in our data.  If Endure-Dimock was returned to the kennel in 1959ish, he could have sired the litters, and died at 13. It is curious a sire used so heavily in the early 60s wasn't used at all in the 50s, and then died in 1964- making him either a different dog that just got stuck in a corner at PGK and died young, or..... a dog that was elsewhere for several years as a youngster.

*as a side note- the story on Endure-Delp moving to a monastery is detailed enough to make he think he's not our Endure A.  :)

I'd love to hear any supporting evidence or thoughts people might have!

You've excluded the monastic Endure, Excellent works indeed.  OK, me too, need to dig in after being bumped offline for 24hrs post tcells here yesterday.  We survive, as do all in Alaska too, woo woo! :)  Hang on, I need do some Endure - Dimock searches here, yes.  best, susan

All I came up with so far here are the early color snapshots of their littersis PG Chena - Anson .  Which are good to have; But does not yet prove Endure - Dimock went back to kennels, aye.  So will hit this search again in morn too.  I haven't exhausted all resources yet.  best, susan
