Has Koha gone silent? We usually hear dings and pings while checking things in and out. Anyone else experiencing this?

Mariah,
Try going into Home > Administration > System preferences, select the “Staff client” tab from the sidebar on the left. Scroll down to “Options” and make sure “AudioAlerts” is set to “Enable.”

Thanks...
I've just checked and we are "enabled" for audio alerts.
I was trying to find where the "events defined in
the audio alerts section of administration" is located, maybe somehow our definitions have changed.

Sorry! Are the audio alert definitions under Administration > additional parameters a global setting as well?
Thanks,

I suspect that changing audio alerts in the system preferences will change the setting for all libraries. Please let everyone know if you're making a system-wide change. Thanks--
Jane
I didn't actually notice until I saw this thread, but we're not hearing anything from Koha either. Sounds from Youtube/Work Instagram yes but nothing from Koha.

We found it is a Firefox problem. We use Firefox for Koha and they block sound for all websites and you have to go in and add an exception to allow notifications. Go to options in Firefox, privacy and security, Permissions and notifications. Click on Exceptions next to Block websites and add the Koha URL to the address line. Click Allow and save. You should have a ding.
It worked for us, thank you.
