Hello, all -

In the circ and fines rules, the patron category INPROCESS shows that it should allow unlimited checkouts for a period of 30 days.  However, it is only allowing the default 50 checkouts, which means we have to acknowledge the 'please confirm checkout' message for every item after 50.  I temporarily changed the 'unlimited' to '500' and it still told us the limit is 50.

Also, the checkout period is set at 30 days.  As a test, I changed it to 60 days and it still only checked out items for 30 days.

I rarely edit the circ/fines rules, so maybe I'm out of practice... what am I missing here?

Thanks,

R

Hi Rhonda--
I think it did the same thing when I tried to modify the INPROCESS and ILL patron settings.  I wonder if you could create a ClatsopCC INPROCESS patron that would do what you want, but I suspect that you would still run into the system default limits and have to override.  It might be a job for the ByWater support staff.

Thanks, Jane... I did create another patron type (CLATINPROC), set the parameters (500 items), and changed our CCCCataloging account to that patron type.  But it still asks for the over 50 item confirmation.

Am I just not giving it enough time to update?  I know sometimes there's a delay.  (For example, when removing an item from hold, that item will still show up on a hold list for a while afterward.)  I try to wait at least 30 minutes before

Should we go ahead and send a ticket to Bywater?

Hi Rhonda--
I suspect that the problem is really that the system limit default is set at 50 items for all patron types.  I remember trying to get the system to accept more than 50 checkouts for ILL and INPROCESS, but was not able to get by the limit.  Putting in a ticket on the ByWater support site is pretty simple.  If you run into problems, please ask for help.
Best--
