Meet the four amazing individuals we’ve chosen for this year’s journey:
KRISHNA SINGH-- 91%
Krishna is from Bikramgunj village Bihar. He studied in the village till std 3rd and then moved to Viewpoint public school, Bokaro. He studied there till Std VIIIth and then took admission in DAV (Dayanand Adarsh Vidyalaya), Chandankyari. He was awarded 60% schoarship at DAV owing to his meritorious record throughout his school years. He secured 90.5% in his pre-boards. he has three sisters. One sister is married, the second one is in her final year of graduation in his village and the third one is Std 9th in JAC board school. His Father works as a security guard in a parking in West Bengal and mother is a tailor. The family’s monthly income is around 8k. They live in an unoccupied area which implies that there is no rent for the house. He aspires to crack IIT-JEE and also want to prepare for UPSC.
VIVEK RAJ -- 93%
Vivek lives in Chopan village near sec XI, Bokaro. He is from Saraswati Shishu Mandir School. His father developed health issues after covid and lost his job. He was unemployed for a long time . He tried to take up multiple jobs but unfortunately his jobs have been very irregular. In the meanwhile , his grandfather and chacha also passed away . They were both supporting Vivek’s family financially. He has been able to continue his education till now with the help of loans taken from SHGs. He has an elder sister who is studying mechanical engineering in Polytechnis in Dumka. Vivek secured 94% in his pre-boards and has been a rank holder throughout his school years. He has also qualified for Pratibha Poshan schoalrship twice. Vivek is a popular kid in his entire neighbourhood as mentioned by CSB team members who went for his home visit. Everyonw know s him as a topper.
PREM KUMAR -- 95.4%
Prem lives in Camp 2 , Bokaro. He went to Viewpoint School till Std VIIIth and then moved to DAV , Koriya. He received a 90% scholarship in DAV. Father owns a snacks stall and the annual family income is around 1 .5 lakh. He has two younger brothers who are 12 and 13 years old. Both study in Viewpoint School. He secured 90% in pre-boards and has been a good students throughout. His home visit revealed that he lives in a very small house and still has a devoted study corner with his idols on the wall. He showed a lot of grit in his future aspirations. He also wants to crack IIT-JEE
DEVANSHU TALDHI -- 96%
Devanshu is a chinmayan and he has been offered a half scholarship by CSB. His father is a service advisor in Tata Motors Franchise and mother is a home maker. Annual income of the family is Rs 2.5 lakhs. He has been is a top ranking student throughout his school years without taking any tutions. He wants to pursue the IIT and then the UPSC career path. He has been irregular in paying his fees due to financial crisis. He has also secured schoalrship from Chinmaya Mission Trust in the past. He is the only child of his parents. He is getting a half scholarship as per the decision taken by the selection committee.
