Hope you all had a wonderful dussehra and are eagerly awaiting for Diwali celebraitons!!
We wanted to share a brief update about CSB in the meanwhile. As you all know, CSB has been functioning for the last 9 years. For the first few years, we managed to get candidates from underprivileged families and we took up their total expense, including the admission fees and well as the month to month tuition fees. 3-4 years ago, the admission process changed in Chinmaya Vidyalaya and it was difficult for us to control the selection criteria so we started getting scholars who were from better backgrounds and could afford to take up at least part of the educational fees.This was our part-scholarship route. We let them pay the admission fees but we took up the monthly tuition fees for them which definitely came as a relief to their hard-working families.They deserved the scholarships but we wanted to dig deeper and get the more deserving one with fewer resources.
As a result, this year, we worked very hard with the help of our in-school coordinators, Sanjeo Mishra and Chinmoyee Ojha to penetrate into the admission process well in advance and we managed to find candidates who were from poorer families and who would drop out without the promise of a full scholarship. So we took all their expenses this year including the admission fees . The admission fees for two candidates comes to Rs 53,375 (excluding the caution deposit of 32,200, which is waived by the school for CSB scholars)
We are extremely happy to get more deserving candidates this year but we also need an additional Rs 53,375 to keep supporting them without any hitch. Our annual expenses comes to Rs 2,12,320 for 4 students and the monthly expenses are Rs 10,040. We have 3 members who contribute 1000 per month so 3k out of 10k has been taken care of. We just need 7 more people to contribute 1k every month to fill in the deficit. We earnestly request just 7 of you to contribute towards this cause and help us make this happen.
Having said that, we are always open to one time donations also. We have received donations from Rs 20 to Rs 40,000 over the last 9 years and any amount would be accepted with gratitude and blessings.
