TipIf you change your recovery phone or email, Google may still offer to send verification codes to your previous recovery phone number or email address for 7 days. If someone starts to use your account without your permission, this allows you to quickly secure your settings.
At the bar last night I got a number I opened a new contact under my Google contacts on my Droid Incredible and typed in the information. But in my sub lucid state I never saved it, I would love to call this girl but the number is lost to me, any thoughts on how I might get the digits back?
Sorry but there is no way to recover the phone number unless that persons number called/text you or you made a call/text to that person. If you did that you could go into your call history and see the made/missed call and then add it to your contacts.
A habit to get into is dial the number first and then hang up. That way its in your call history. Then from your call history add the number to your contacts and add additional info such as name, address and email. If you do this and forget to click save at least you still have the telephone number on your phone.
If you are in an edit contact screen and you press on the home button before you saved the contact, there are chances that this screen would still be active but you need to get back into the app using the "recent apps" list. In my case (Galaxy S3), if I long-press the home button it shows me the list of recently used applications and if I select one from the list it goes back to it in the state it was before I pressed home.
If we assigned you an Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) and you lost it or you didn't receive our CP01A Notice with your new IP PIN, you'll need to retrieve it or have it reissued to e-file your return.
If you're unable to retrieve your IP PIN online, you may call us at
800-908-4490 for specialized assistance, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. your local time (Alaska and Hawaii follow Pacific time), to have your IP PIN reissued. An assistor will verify your identity and mail your IP PIN to your address of record within 21 days. International users can call us at
1-267-941-1000 (not toll free) between 6 a.m.-11 p.m. Eastern time.
Existing IP PIN users seeking to retrieve their numbers should not apply for a new IP PIN with Form 15227. The Form 15227 application process is only for taxpayers who are newly opting into the program and do not already have an IP PIN requirement.
Yes, I register Internet Identity with the security key via fido u2f app installed in ledger nano X. However, I accidentally removed the only one device has been added. So I wonder if there is any way to recover my identity via fido u2f too.
I recently had my number changed but then realized that my number is the only way I could log into certain other accounts and now im locked out of them. is there a way I can recover that number and have it back to my account
Oh no! We do actually have a way of requesting your old number back depending on how long ago you had it changed. Just Contact Us when you have some time and let them know you want your old number back.
Hi, I'm trying to recover our old landline phone number. Spoke to someone at BT who said it was not possible - unless you requested this within two weeks of changing the number originally, the number was lost for ever. However this does not agree with other posts on the BT Community forum.
My wife and I own my late parents' house. After they died, a few years ago, my brother switched the phone line from BT to Vodafone, who issued a new number. We recently bought out my brother's share of the house and have switched back to BT. I called them asking to change back to the old number, which is not in use - just get a beeping if you call it. But I was told that this was not possible - even though the number is owned by BT, is not in use and is for the same house.
We can double check from here to see if it's possible to get the original number back. As @Keith_Beddoe has said above; there is never any guarantee you'll get it back however, there is no harm in having a look
To let the wider community know @RichardB4 has a digital voice line. There is a 30-day window from when a PSTN number has been stopped in which we can request a renumber onto a digital voice line, I'm afraid in this instance the number had been out of service too long so it isn't possible to get the number back.
I don't yet have a reply but I think this works and I haven't found any similar or otherwise helpful answer in my research. If you have blocked someone, deleted all messages, and deleted their contact info (IN THAT ORDER) try this: Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts...scroll through. You are going to have some recall of 3-4 digits, in order, of the number. If you see a number with a series of digits you recognize, SWIPE LEFT and an option to unblock will appear. There won't be a name or any other identifying information if you blocked, deleted messages, and then deleted contact info (in that order)--only the number remains. That's the only way I have found to unblock a number you've already deleted with no contact info. I'd also like to mention that if you went through all of that, you may not want to do this....but I wanted to, many months later. Wishing you luck...
Jira keeps track of the last sequential number used in an issue key for a project (or the next one that can be used, I'm not sure which). There are some unsupported methods to force the number that will be used next. But, again, I would advise against actually doing that to reuse numbers that were already used, even if those issues were deleted.
I'm in a bit of a pickle and could really use some guidance. Recently, I accidentally deleted some crucial contacts from my Samsung Galaxy, and I'm desperately trying to recover deleted contacts from Samsng Galaxy.
I've tried searching through my phone's settings and exploring various apps, but I haven't had any luck so far. I've heard that there might be ways to recover deleted contacts using specialized software or through cloud backups, but I'm not sure where to start or which methods are reliable.
Sure, you can try using a third-party software called "Dr.Fone - Data Recovery (Android)" to recover deleted contacts from Samsung galaxy on a Windows computer. Here's how you can do it:
1. Download and Install Dr.Fone:
- Visit the official website of Dr.Fone - Data Recovery (Android) and download the software for Windows.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install it on your Windows computer.
2. Connect Your Samsung Device:
- Use a USB cable to connect your Samsung to your Windows computer.
- Enable USB debugging on your Samsung. You can usually find this option in the Developer Options section of your device's Settings. If Developer Options is not visible, go to About Phone and tap on the Build Number multiple times until you see a message saying you are now a developer.
- Once connected, launch Dr.Fone on your computer.
3. Select Data Recovery Mode:
- In Dr.Fone, select the "Data Recovery" option from the main interface.
4. Choose File Types:
- Select "Contacts" or "Contacts and Messages" (if you want to recover both contacts and text messages) from the list of file types.
5. Scan Your Samsung galaxy:
- Click on the "Start" button to begin the scanning process. Dr.Fone will analyze your Samsung galaxy for deleted contacts.
6. Preview and Recover Deleted Contacts from Samsung galaxy:
- After the scanning process is complete, Dr.Fone will display a list of recoverable contacts.
- Preview the contacts to ensure they are the ones you want to recover.
- Select the contacts you want to recover and click on the "Recover" button.
- Choose a location on your computer to save the recovered contacts.
7. Finish:
- Once the recovery process is complete, you should have successfully recovered your deleted contacts from Samsung galaxy.
Remember to regularly back up your contacts to avoid data loss in the future. Additionally, make sure to follow the instructions carefully and be cautious when using third-party software.
These methods rely on previously enabled backup options on your Samsung Galaxy device. If you haven't enabled any of these features before, unfortunately, there might not be a free built-in method to recover deleted contacts from Samung Galaxy. Regularly backing up your contacts in the future can help prevent data loss.
Note: If you cannot use any recovery methods, you have permanently lost access to your account. However, you can unlink an email address tied to the locked account. The unlinked email address can then be linked to a new or existing account. For more information, see "Unlinking your email address from a locked account."
Use one of your recovery codes to automatically regain entry into your account. You may have saved your recovery codes to a password manager or your computer's downloads folder. The default filename for recovery codes is github-recovery-codes.txt. For more information about recovery codes, see "Configuring two-factor authentication recovery methods."
Warning: If you protect your personal account with two-factor authentication but do not know your password, you will need to start a two-factor authentication recovery request. For more information, see "Request help with two-factor authentication."
If you have added a passkey to your account, you can use your passkey to automatically regain access to your account. Passkeys satisfy both password and 2FA requirements, so you don't need to know your password in order to recover your account. For more information, see "About passkeys."
If you configured two-factor authentication using a security key, you can use your security key as a secondary authentication method to automatically regain access to your account. For more information, see "Configuring two-factor authentication."
