Thankyou. When the two pieces of waste boards are butt up together on either side of the T-Track, is the space between them 5/8 or 3/4? 5/8 seems small. Maybe @OnefinityCNC can verify the width of the t-track (space between two waste boards).

I have a WoodRiver Jig Hardware Kit 149 pieces (from WoodCraft) . I also happen to have a WW QCW, attach from above. The entire kit is comprised only of 1/4" X 20 TPI hardware. There are four different lengths of T-Bolts in the kit; but the length is immaterial to our discussion. All the T-Bolts fit the T-Track slot of the WW QCW.

HOWEVER, the threaded bolt does fit into the groove. The flange is just slightly too wide. The flange is 13.17mm at its widest point, and the width of the lower groove in the T-track is 12.00mm. Therefore, take about 0.7mm (give or take) off of each side and fine adjust a needed.

I'm building a Miter Saw station and I have some aluminum T Track I bought for the fence system from Rockler and I need to cut it. I've used a carbide blade in my table saw to cut thin aluminum but I'm not sure if can cut the T Track the same way. I don't want to use a hack saw if I don't have to as I would like a smooth cut.

I wouldn't worry about the thickness of the t-track, I have cut aluminum door bottoms, weather stripping, 1/4" aluminum bar stock etc on a miter saw, with no adverse affects on the carbide or the blade.

Greg I have too but I always seem to break the wheels. I have a dye grinder but I ran out of cut off wheels. I ended up using my miter saw and it cut it like butter. I really don't like cutting metal on the band saw or my Table saw unless I have to but the miter saw is easy to clean. Thanks all for your help and ideas!

We added t-track clamps to our X-Carve to make it easier to clamp things, set jigs, and use less material. We brainstormed and sketched a lot until we came up with the simplest clamping solution we could think of: 2 t-tracks running perpendicular on 2 sides, and an "L" shaped wood bracket that our t-track clamps can clamp against.

The super exciting (and crucial) first step: measure and plan your t-track position! Yes, generally they make an L on the outer edge of your CNC, but there were a few things we kept in mind for the exact positioning:

Once we made sure all those boxes were checked, we sharpied out where we wanted to mark our cuts and did an "air run" of the machine (where we don't turn on the spindle and don't have it move down in the axis, just moving in the x and y above the wasteboard). This helped us double check to make sure our CAM was right before we actually made our cuts.

We used a nonferrous metals blade on our miter saw to cut the t-track to length, and it cut like butter. The cool thing about aluminum is you can work with it on most woodworking tools. We cut the x axis track to 25.25". We cut the y-axis track to 26.25".

The L brackets are what your clamps will push against. They have holes in them that line up with the threaded inserts in the X-Carve wasteboard, but you can add your own threaded inserts to your wasteboard if you don't have them already. We used plywood so that it would be strong in all directions and made 2 different sized L's to start with, a small and a medium.
