Singapore American School is a leading international school with a
total of 3850 students, and is now seeking an experienced professional
to serve as its first Director of Chinese Language. Mandarin is
required of all students in pre-school through 5th grade, and then is
continued as one of the language options for students in middle school
and high school. The culminating course in the high school is
Advanced Placement Chinese Language and Culture, and SAS has continued
to have among the highest scores on the AP exam in the world. There
are currently 19 full-time teachers in the Chinese Language Program,
and there will be at least two Chinese Language teacher openings for
2010-2011 (see online application for teacher positions).

All applications will be reviewed as received with the deadline for
accepting applications being February 1, 2010. Short-listed
candidates will be invited to interview on campus at SAS shortly after
the closing deadline for applications. SAS anticipates an appointment
for this position no later than 1 March 2010 with a starting date for
this position as July 2010.
