The Center on Religion and the Global East announces a free webinar
An Introduction to the Online Spiritual Atlas of the Global East (OSAGE)
February 10, 7pm EST via Zoom

Host: Center on Religion and Global East (CRGE), Purdue University

Speakers: Fenggang Yang, Professor (Purdue University), Charles Chang (Duke-Kunshan University), Jonathan Pettit (University of Hawai‘i-Mānoa)

On February 10, 7pm EST (Feb 11, 8am HKT), the CRGE will offer an introduction to the OSAGE, a free, online platform that allows users to visualize the spatial distribution of individual religious sites in the Global East, as well as see how geographic regions compare with each other in terms of the number of religious sites. Presenters will introduce the current features of OSAGE, the datasets now available, as well as plans to expand OSAGE in coming years. Discussions will focus on the problems, limitations, and possibilities in using the datasets of OSAGE. The webinar is aimed at scholars interested in incorporating this data into their research, educators using OSAGE in the classroom, and media or government agencies in need of visualization tools of religion in the Global East.

The webinar is free and open to the public. Please contact cr...@purdue.edu for inquiries.
