A FEARLESS HERD.

In the spirit of this year's Mardi Gras Mantra #befearless, and International Women's Day this edition of the herd is all about courage.

At batyr we talk a lot about the power of vulnerability, and believe our speakers use the power of vulnerability every time they share their story to smash the stigma surrounding mental health. We believe to be vulnerable, is to be courageous.

    SPEAKER FEATURE: EMMA

In light of International Women's Day last week, we're featuring one of our amazing speakers, Emma! Because what's more courageous than sharing your story of vulnerability to hundreds of strangers?

"Speaking for batyr has let me share my story of mental ill-health in front of hundreds and hundreds of people, which is mildly terrifying because it’s something very personal and it’s a hard place to revisit. But, it’s also extremely empowering and the best way to connect with other people who might be (or know someone) experiencing a similar thing.

I speak because it’s kind of like my therapy. The more I revisit it and the more comfortable I get with retelling it, the easier it is for me to accept and recognise if I’m not actually doing okay. The impact that batyr has on young people is so tangible and powerful, and knowing that sharing my experience is part of that impact is really humbling." - Emma
