Chinese Trackpad Handwriting button added to MacBook Pro Control Strip

9to5mac has a brief writeup and a nice video demonstrating the new Chinese Trackpad Handwriting button added to MacBook Pro Control Strip in macOS Sierra 10.12.2:

"Thanks to macOS 10.12.2, you can now easily invoke the Chinese Trackpad Handwriting controls via the Touch Bar’s Control Strip. To do so, you’ll need to have Chinese enabled as an Input Source in System Preferences → Keyboard → Input Sources.

"From there, head back to the main Keyboard tab, and click the Customize Control Strip Option in the bottom right-hand corner.

"Once the customize interface appears, tap the chevron button on the left side of the Control Strip to expand it, and you’ll see full customization options. Drag the new Handwriting button to the vicinity of the Touch Bar to store it there for quick access."

Hi all,
I found this interesting, but when I used the Chinese Handwriting tool the selections do not show up in the touch bar on my 13” version. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Do you see the button to choose the Handwriting option?

What I didn't get is that after using the command on the touch bar to bring up the Handwriting, you need to press the "X" on the left side of the touch bar to move all the other commands out of the way so that the writing choices appear. Works well then.
