第六届「基督教与中国社会文化」国际年青学者研讨会
The 6th International Young Scholars’ Symposium on “Christianity and Chinese Society and Culture”

香港中文大学崇基学院宗教与中国社会研究中心与美国旧金山旧金山大学利玛窦中西文化历史研究所为栽培从事研究基督教与中国社会及中国宗教文化的研究生和年青学者,从2002年起即每两年合办一次「基督教与中国社会文化--国际年青学者研讨会」以促进年青学者间之研讨和意见交流。
上述两所主办单位将于2012年12月10至12日于香港中文大学崇基学院,携手再合办第六届研讨会,更加入上海大学宗教与中国社会研究中心和中国人民大学基督教文化研究所作协办单位。研讨会现正接受公开报名,申请详情如下:
申请资格:
1. 全球认可大学、神学院研究式课程的研究生(包括哲学硕士及哲学博士班)及年青哲学硕士、哲学博士、博士后及教龄不超过三年并具有博士学位的年轻教师;
2. 申请在研讨会上报告的中文或英文论文必须与「基督教与中国社会研究」这主题相关;主办单位尤其鼓励申请人提交涉猎下列任何一项研究进路或题材的论文:
² 跨科际取向的研究
² 置于文学、社会学、历史学或人类学等大范畴处境下的研究
² 最新的田野考察及实证研究
² 基于原始史料的创新历史课题
² 中外关系中的科技史
² 中外关系中的地方及区域社会史和文化史
3. 申请的中文或英文论文必须为原著且从未以任何形式出版;一经选拔,申请人须同意于研讨会后将该论文(中文文章须包括繁体及简体字版)的版权交由主办单位出版。
申请方法:

2. 申请时请提交内容详实之申请表一份,连同个人简历、申请在研讨会上报告的论文全文(限10,000字以内)和摘要(约500字),邮寄至香港新界沙田香港中文大学崇基学院宗教与中国社会研究中心或电邮至cs...@cuhk.edu.hk。
3. 截止报名日期:2012年7月31日
4. 申请结果将于2012年9月15日公布。获邀访港参加会议并报告论文者,在参加全部学术活动的基础上,将获主办单位津贴部份赴港旅费及在港期间之食宿费用。

The 6th International Young Scholars’ Symposium on “Christianity and Chinese Society and Culture”

Introduction:
Centre for the Study of Religion and Chinese Society, Chung Chi College and The Ricci Institute for Chinese-Western Cultural History of the University of San Francisco has co-organized the International Young Scholars’ Symposium since the year of 2002 to provide a platform for young potential scholars from different parts of the world to share and discuss their research work on Christianity and Chinese Society.
The Sixth Symposium will be organized by the above two units on December 10-12, 2012 at Chung Chi College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with Center for the Study of Religion and Chinese Society of Shanghai University and Institute for the Study of Christian Culture of Renmin University of China joined as co-organizers. The symposium is now open for application, details of which follow:
Eligibility:
1. Student of Research Postgraduate Programme (including M. Phil and Ph. D. students), young M. Phil, Ph. D., Post-doctoral Fellow, and faculty with Ph D degree and has less than three years of teaching experience from any accredited tertiary institutions and seminaries worldwide;
2. Paper proposed should under the theme of “Christianity and Chinese Society and Culture.” In particular, the co-organizers encourage the papers that dealing with any approaches and topics specified below:
² Inter-disciplinary approach
² In larger literary, social, historical or anthropological context
² Recent field works and empirical research
² New historical research topics based on primary materials
² History of science in Sino-Western relations
² Local and regional social and cultural history in Sino-Western relations
3. Paper proposed must be original and unpublished work written in either Chinese or English language. Once the applicant is selected, copyright of the paper submitted should be assigned to the co-organizers of the symposium for future publication.

2. Applicant should submit a completed application form with a brief Curriculum Vitae, full paper (in no more than 10,000 words) proposed to be presented at the symposium and abstract (in about 500 words) by mail or email at cs...@cuhk.edu.hk.
3. Deadline for application: July 31, 2012
4. Result would be announced on September 15, 2012. On a condition that participant attends all scheduled academic activities throughout the symposium, partial subsidy for traveling expenses and accommodation would be available for successful non-local participant.
